Ahamkara and the wishes
I watched byfs video on the story of destiny and when talking about the ahamkara he mentioned that they were hunted to extinction because of too many people wishing for things, this intrigued me. Is there any lore on what people wished for and who they are?

It’s as because the ahamkara always twisted the words of the guardians wishes into ways that benefited the ahamkara at the detriment of said guardian. However it was simply too tempting for many to not make wishes and thus it was decided that they were to dangerous and needed to be hunted down until the species was extinct

Yes, almost every lore tab within the last wish raid is about the great ahamkara hunt and the wishes they... Wished for Specifically armor pieces btw, that's where you'll find them

It’s implied that it was mostly Guardians who made wishes, as they were the ones going out and finding them. Examples of Guardians interacting with Ahamkara and making wishes can be found in the lore tabs for the Last Wish raid armor.

The creature granted his wish and transformed into gigantic, winged European dragon and he and Efrideet fought it to the death. The Hunter Himura Shinobu read the journal she had on her when she first rezzed and saw that she had a very loving upbringing. She wished to know her family better, so the Ahamkara transformed into her late mother and began implanting false memories into Shinobu's mind. Shinobu's friend, whom she was hunting with told her that the thing wasn't her mother and she had to snap the heck out of it. Shinobu then gunned it down.

2 RepliesShaax was involved in the great ahamkara hunt as well and I have reason to suspect he makes a wish though what that wish was is still beyond me. If I had to guess it would be something like, I wanna be with that Mara Sov gal hahaha but there could definitely have been a serious wish too. However, if I remember correctly, its not that too many people are making wishes, its that the danger of wish magic is to great a threat to be left alone after having seen a few wishes granted already. Not sure if it was the vanguard or the concord that originally puts forth the order but I wanna say it was the vanguard commander Zavala at the time.
