Hi, I am a fairly new PVE player to Destiny 2, can i get some help please? I am grinding Nightfall for exotics, more precisely exotics that can help me do solo looting, example the Lion Rampant etc etc. I dont mind putting in the time to get one eventually but I am abit confused.
I started getting exotics, but then I started getting Duplicate exotics. At first I didnt think anything of it but getting down more and more on the grind I started getting more an more duplicates. I mean I spent alooot of time on this sometimes I dont get any. A quick check i saw some posts about others saying the same an even linked some info from the patch notes , here I think https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/Update/47377 Under ITEMS AND ECONOMY
My question is this, will I always be subjected to duplicates instead of getting exotics I havn't got? I spent so much time only to be getting ones I already have with okish rolls. I am already starting to get reluctant to play this game.
Anyway thanks in advance for any help or advise on this

Make sure you always buy Xur's fated engram, that's a guaranteed new exotic until you have all the non-raid/non-quest exotics. If he has an exotic for sale you don't have buy that first though or you're likely to get one he's selling.

1 Replyas with anything that uses RNG you are always subject to duplicates.

1 ReplyExotic gear that drops as an end-of-activity reward such as these Nightfall drops or from rank up packages with the vendors are always going to be subject to RNG. Exotic engrams that drop from an enemy or purchased from Xûr will always grant something you don't have until you've received everything you can from that source.
