I’ve seen so many guardians talk about “why do I keep going against sweaties” or other various topics like that with trials. For every casual or new player you need to know Trials is not casual play it’s where players play for that real competitive drive. It’s not mayhem or control or any other regular crucible playlist. And it’s not for the front of heart. But I do think everyone should give it a go. I’d never tell anyone to stay out of a game mode no matter who they may be. Just be prepared to play to win and not lose. Just got my flawless seal yesterday, definitely still riding that high
Edit: damn you all are such downers. It’s still just a game. Have some fun at least! : )

I see it as some players just want easy wins. Applies to both sides. They don't want to work for it.(put in elbow grease)

7 RepliesLet me tell you. I’ve done trials for years. This version of trials isn’t for “sweaties” it’s for people who have good guns and no skills. You could have all the skill in the world but if you face a team with the same mind numbing weapons that have zero recoil and endless firing, then you’ll have no chance. Trials used to require skill and tactical thinking. Now it’s just a game for people who use cheap tactics and broken weapons. Can’t tell you the amount of bs my team has encountered. And that’s assuming you don’t run into a team that is actually cheating. Bungie really needs to get the mods under control. Miss the old trials.

1 ReplyLmao. Ok so say your team is a solid 1.5kd. Your enemy team has 2.4. Your ok with getting stomped every single game and wouldn’t get discouraged to go again?

3 RepliesEdited by Golden_Apple: 6/2/2020 1:21:08 AMTrials is literally who has the highest power level, best build (which tends to eclipse skill at times), best thumb twitches, and best lag manipulation toolset (Peer-to-Peer literally enables it). And with how piss poor PvP has been in the past three years, you'd think the sandboxes would be separated by now. But the real nail in the coffin is that Sunsetting defeats the purpose of getting trials gear and 600 rpm ARs are gonna get nerfed (again...) Edit: Now that High impact pulse rifles are getting buffed, my Einstein-D can finally shine again, only for it to get nerfed (again...) because everyone is going to spam the tf out of Redrix and everyone will walk around with a rapid fire high impact pulse ready to light up a an unsuspecting victim. Then everyones gonna complain in the forums and the entire archetype gets destroyed because of one specific gun.

1 ReplyIn my experience, especially recently, no playlist is for casual play. There are sweaty bollocks in every playlist. The best way to play pvp is to not give a sh*t about what happens. Then you have fun, bc nothing matters.
-
1 ReplyHow about 160k players across 4 platforms. This gametype should be more engaging than that, especially being a focus of the season.

D2 is a casual game

They -blam!-ed up the rewards system. Casuals shouldn't feel intimidated out of playing it. Trials are for anyone. It's getting to the Lighthouse that's not meant for just anybody to be able to accomplish. They did a better job with the reward system in D1. Plenty of players who never made it to the lighthouse played regularly for the gear. It was as you got closer to a flawless that got sweaty. D2 Trials is so messed up I won't go near it until Bungie fixes it.

4 RepliesNothing competitive about it. It’s about gimmicks, paid carries... it’s a terrible mode.

9 RepliesGoing Flawless isn’t for casual players, but Trials should be enjoyed by everyone. It’s better for everyone when players of all skill levels participate. I’m one of the hardcore players, and I swore off Trials completely until next season because it’s a pro tournament in games 1-7 with the playerbase being this low. It isn’t healthy.
-
9 RepliesWell... When people pay to play a game, they kinda want to play it. When a game mode like Trials has a seal, a lot of players will want to get that seal, even it it’s beyond their skill level. When a game mode like Trials offers a single point for elite loot like The Summoner, people are going to want the loot. This stuff ain’t rocket science. Casuals do still have a place in the player pool, even if for low level gains, like getting to 3 wins. That should be an attainable goal for even average pvp players. Right now...it’s not due forcing farms and no real incentive for sweatlords to keep pushing 7 win tickets. This could be better. Bungie dropped the ball. The good news is that they know it...and should be fixing some things.

2 RepliesTrials needs sbmm

Welcome to the jungle, casual players. No safety zones in trials.
-
2 RepliesTrials is about how low you're willing to stoop. There's easy mode guns, like Revoker, Suros, Summoner, but those are pretty common. General camping, emote peaking, all the way down to literal cheating and purchasing the flawless. There's all sorts of cheap tactics that make the game less competitive, and much more like playing Mario Kart and calling it high skill.
-
It was pretty casual for me when I got carried. Haha
-
Congratulations, I agree. Got my Flawless Seal yesterday as well.... feels soooo good :)

Trials should reward all players for playing in some way, but doesn’t need to offer the same rewards to all players. I liked D1 where if you weren’t having much luck you could still get some non adept gear. Adept gear was reserved for the best players. It was fun and rewarding for everyone. We need casuals playing. We need competitive players playing. The more healthy the population the higher quality matches.
-
1 ReplyI get that it’s competitive but there are at least a couple people who aren’t 100% sweats playing, why have I never matched against them? Every team I go against is 1005 plus, me and my friends started playing it when we were 960, where is anyone like me?
-
1 ReplyTrials since D1 has always been toxic. It’s not fun and I refuse to play just so others can stomp my team and tbag. Who needs that crap? Tired of the “git gud” BS. Some of us have full time careers, mortgages and family to take care of. We don’t need any toxicity from a game. That’s why Gambit is actually pretty good because it’s a good mix.
-
If trials is for the competitive player then why does the comp play list exist trials is ment to be more of an event than a competitive game mode
-
2 RepliesIf by "competitive" you mean third-peeking, Revoker spam, Bastion spam, Anataeus spam, Wormhusk spam, skip spam, Shinobu's spam, and hiding until supers, then yeah, "competitive". Trials will always be a joke playlist for the sweatiest, most tryhardy of the tryhards.

1 ReplyAn exclusive game is a dead game.

Edited by Swiftlock: 5/31/2020 4:10:13 PMNah. I wouldn't advise casuals to play Trials right now. They'll just be food for cheaters, sweaties and paid carry services. That's not fun. Let the population dwindle and show the devs how much of a flop the game mode is at the moment. Wait until those sorely-needed adjustments so casual players have better chances to get loot instead of the mess we have now.
