So about a month ago i was banned from D2 unfortunately for using an Auto clicker to turn in Materials. This all happened with the rampant Trials cheaters whilst I was playing. The support it really bad not gonna lie. The fact they say they "Don't have to answer your questions or at all reply at all" really makes me mad. I spent around 2 weeks trying to contact someone directly working in Player Support. Im not going to say their name because they didn't want to be found in the first place. I talked to them about it and of course I didn't get an unban. The thing that most gets my gears turning is the fact that Macros are allowed to be used while auto clickers can't. Those things are really closely related. If you got this far thank you for reading this, I made this in hopes for it to be seen and I haven't seen one made yet about this particular topic. And yes I know before one of you walk in here, yes it's my fault no one else's to blame and yes i did agree to the TOS.

I agree with your comment on macros because macros are in a sense automation which negates the whole skill based play and why so many other games do not allow it. I can also understand why auto-clickers are a bannable offense because of the real potential for ruining in-game content that involves matchmade activities especially. As I understand it, they are used for AFK farming, cheats and the like which puts the other players in the matchmaking pool at a disadvantage if they are unlucky enough to be matchmade with some running auto-clicker. I get that is not what you wanted to do but it's a slippery slope to let it in the door for one thing. Some of the grindiest tasks are so tedious it is tempting to want to automate these activities but like I said earlier... its a slippery slope! Greater good, it's better out than in! Bungie definitely need to make it clearer to players about where the line is (maybe in game settings) because, seriously, who reads the ToS anyway.

Its dumb

Isn't auto-clicker a third party software? Third party software used in D2 is a breach of the game's usage agreements. Breaking the usage agreements results in a ban when found out. If this is the case, you won't be unbanned.

1 ReplyBungie dgaf about cheating in Trials, this is clear by the poor response / action to date. The only issue with Trials that Bungie cares about is paid for carries / recovs and this is possibly because theyve not yet been able to monertise this.

1 ReplyHah, good riddance.

3 RepliesGladd used macro to turn in materials during season of dawn as well. Obviously he is not banned.
-
2 RepliesI’ve always used a macro to Titan skate and to break smg fire rates. Never been banned. So I won’t believe that an auto clicker, something you can see devs use, would get you banned.
-
2 RepliesBans can be issued by software detected by destiny 2 while running. Also known as, close ALL of your programs before launching D2.

2 RepliesIt sucks you were banned, but they have to do something. Using an "autoclicker" to turn in materials is using an outside program or hardware to manipulate something inside the game. The same thing is true for an aimbot or invincibility mod or be able to fly around. You may have used it for something fairly innocent, but there are other people using outside software to cheat, exploit, and basically abuse the game. Security software isn't going to necessary be able to tell the difference. It sees an outside program doing things to the game and flags it. Too many flags and it might just ban you right then and there. It probably should have been a warning or at least an appeal-able ban, but again, they have to take some drastic measures at this point since it's so out of hand.

3 RepliesThe ban system is supposed to have an appeal process now, but most likely Bungie sees any kind of feature that automates gameplay as a ban worthy offense. Auto click can be used in Crucible, so that's where they're coming from.

19 RepliesThose "autoclickers" probably did something else, such as inject code, etc. Use a mouse software or something next time, such as logitech. That's what Gladd used I'm pretty sure.

crazy

1 ReplyTurn ya aim bot and wall hacks off next time.

1 ReplyTry contacting Dmg or Cozmo or twitter. Last time I checked they had open dms.
-
1 ReplyThey really need to add a bulk buy option at spider.

1 ReplyYou might get more traction with this (and be seen by the right devs) by editing the tags in the post to #FeedbackD2 tag under the Destiny2 primary tag instead of #help. Help is more for tech issues.

3 RepliesThat actually sucks, Ive considered using a macro to turn in/buy materials too but never got around to it. Unfortunately bungie doesnt let you appeal any bans so you’re just stuck I guess.
