Does that mean they can resurrect someone from, say... 1527 AD or 480 BC?

1 ReplyEdited by TheArtist: 5/28/2020 5:11:33 PMFrom any period in history? Yes. But each Ghost is bound to a single Guardian. Which is why Cayde-6 wasn't able to come back after his Ghost had been destroyed. If a ghost could truly revive anyone, out ghost would have been able to bring him back...and its why Eris Morn says that her next death will be her last. As her ghost was lost when she was trapped in the Hellmouth in the first raid attempt on Crota.

10 RepliesEdited by Necrogen: 5/28/2020 5:06:04 PMIt'll be like the Expendables movie but with people like Jesus, Julius Cesar, Alex the great, Genghis Khan, Hitler, Bill O'reilly, and Jon Stewart. Steven Colbert also makes an appearance. Narrated by Morgan Freeman, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen

4 RepliesWould be interesting to read some lore on this, but I doubt Ghosts have the power to resurrect anyone born before Destiny's 'Golden Age' or at least prior to the Traveler showing up in our Solar System, as I suspect the Traveler's influence/presence has something to do with being 'born in the light' and becoming a LightBearer. That being said, this is an interesting topic for discussion, though. Beyond what I just said, and IF the traveler could resurrect anyone as a Guardian/LightBearer, what class do we suppose these historical figures would take?

Yeah they can rez anyone. Guardians aren’t supposed to remember their past so it’s probably already happened

6 RepliesIt was asked earlier if ghosts can revive animals. Now if they can revive something from hundreds upon thousands of years ago. Be right back, I’m going to rez a dinosaur. They laughed at me when the ice cold moon bucket came out of no where and ended my career.... now I’ll return riding a golden gun wielding T-rex....

Edited by Myst3riousGam3r: 5/27/2020 6:34:08 AMYou’re making the bold assumption that the guardians we know aren’t from those time periods originally.

Yes but it doesn't really matter since they have no memory.

Edited by Neo Revanuk: 5/26/2020 4:11:06 PMI'd say yes, but, when a guardian is resurrected they are as a blank slate to a certain extent. Memories of that Human, Awoken or Exo's past life are almost completely expunged so it wouldn't be a factor as to when that Guardian was alive originally. My question would be, If a guardian is killed permanently after their Ghost is destroyed, can they be resurrected by another Ghost who scanned their remains? Cayde for example?

4 RepliesEdited by Plagiarism Wil Make Me God: 5/26/2020 3:44:36 AMOk so it seems some people are only relying on heroic deaths. There is a certain criteria for ghosts reviving dead people. It's said by the Speaker when he talked with Ghual. Devotion, Bravery, and sacrifice. That's also why Uldren was revived. He had devotion for his sister, bravery for embracing the darkness, and sacrifice for the sister he loves. This could also be found in the lore tab of.... was it pork meat? I forgot the name of Uldren's ghost, but it is a lore tab that describes the events prior to Uldren's second life. so, I don't see why people from ancient times won't be revived, but as long as they meet the criteria, then why not?

Why don't the ghosts just rez the traveler?
-
Yes and no. Ghosts are by default given the quest to find the chosen they've been sent to bring back as Guardians, but if the aforementioned chosen's corpse is irretrievably burned or destroyed, then their quest is forever incomplete.

2 RepliesWe don’t know if the Traveler can revive anyone who died before it arrived in the system. Maybe it can, maybe it can’t.
