Skye hears someone close by, and she looks up to find the source of the sound. Her body tenses, and she slowly reaches for her bow, sitting on the log beside her.
-
Blaze looks around, sees Skye and stops. “Hey Skye!”
-
“Blaze?” She peers at him through the darkening shadows and relaxes. “Oh, it’s just you.”
-
“Yeah, just me.” You slowly see him walk through the shadow, and you notice he is relying more on his cane then normal. “Weird place for you to be.”
-
“The quiet reminds me of home,” she says softly with a shrug. “Are you alright?” She eyes his cane.
-
“Yeah......” Blaze trails off for a moment, before seeing Skye was crying. “Are you okay?”
-
She looks at him in confusion for a moment, then quickly wipes her damp eyes dry with the heel of her hand. She let her feet drop to the ground so that she sat in a more comfortable position. “Uh... aye,” she says, though there is still doubt lingering in her voice,” I’m just... for once, I have a lot on my mind.”
-
“What’s on your mind?” Blaze walks over as fast as he can, and sits down next to her.
-
“I went through one of Crowley’s portals the other day, and he told me that someone is looking for me.” She grabs an arrow from her quiver and fiddles with it. “But... he’s very angry, and I don’t fully know what he wants.”
-
“Oh that guy.” Blaze sounds like he’s annoyed. “I wonder how his shoulder is doing.......”
-
Skye shifts in her place to face him. “What do you mean, ‘that guy’? Errol? Did you see him?”
-
“Yeah I met him, we had a....... pleasant interaction.....”
-
Edited by Gingiebread: 5/25/2020 2:10:22 PMShe drops the arrow and turns away again to bury her face into her hands. She exclaims in anguish, “By Saint Andrew’s cross!”
-
“What?” Blaze looks at her. “Did I do something?”
-
Edited by Gingiebread: 5/25/2020 2:18:48 PM“No, I did!” Her voice is muffled by her hands before she stands and paces around. “I did something, and now he’s gone mad! He has killed four people already, and who knows how many more after that! And because of me, one of them could have been you!”
-
“Hey, it’s alright.” Blaze puts an arm around her. “It’s all good. I’m still alive. It was more my fault for showing how skeptical I was of him, not anything to do with you.”
-
Skye relaxes a little, but her words are still filled with worry and fear. “You don’t understand. I let it happen! I let his father get killed! And now his judgements are... twisted.”
-
“Skye........ we all do things we’ll regret.” Blaze starts to get a hint of sadness in his voice. “But...... another friend taught me that....... well, you can’t run from that mistake, but you can do better.”
-
“I know I can’t just run away from this... whatever Errol has done is my responsibility. The memories came in so quickly, I...” she stops and sits back down with a hand on her head as it ached. “I know have to do something, but I don’t know what.”
-
“I...... I couldn’t tell ya. He doesn’t like me much if that means anything. Oh right, let me see if I can.....” Blaze sends a small, mostly painless shock through Skye.
-
She jumps in surprise, but soon gives a relieved sigh as the pain left and her thoughts cleared. “Thanks.”
-
Blaze smiles. “Welcome!” Blaze gets to his feet, relying on his cane to get up.
-
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
-
“Uh.....yeah.” Blaze steps using his right foot and you see him wince. “Never been better.....”
-
“You’re lying,” she says simply.
