Remember when bungie sunsetted weapons in D1?
I could have sworn they sunsetted weapons like D1 VOG weapons that were the best in the game, yet when taken king cake out, they were capped and couldn't be used, but later turned into exotics.
Remember when D2 Y1 all weapons were static rolls?
All these complaints about not being able to use your favorite weapons have been going on since 2015.
Armor is another story, but I like to use armor that can use current mods, yet doesn't next season armor won't be able to use mods from shadowkeep season.

2 RepliesThe thing is that you could still use said weapons for many other activities and the taken king turned the game into a better direction,it was also early,destiny 2 has been out for a while and no one likes this change,we’re not getting big loot overhaul or anything,and this d2 sunsetting is to “fix power creep” but there is non,the meta always changes. There is no power creep,this is no magic the gathering game,bungie just doesn’t listen and this whole sunsetting thing is very short sighted they plan on doing it over and over which means no matter what you get it’ll be useless later,no matter when and where you get it. If you think about this it’s just a terrible decision,even business wise. A lot of players have quit and many are thinking about it. They’re not looking forward they’re only looking to the present and not even grasping what’s going on around them,the community is dwindling and the game might even die.

In d1 i didn't have to re grind gear i had because they got rid of it all and decided to let me grind replacements that they handpicked every year. It was a one and done sunset not a repeated one.
