What in the actual WHAT are you doing?
Even the character specific swords are getting sunsetted, the character specific swords from doing Heroic Menagerie too?
Its getting pretty clear to me that nobody is steering the ship. See that iceberg over there.
Swords you are sunsetting in season 12:
Zephyr
Unspoken Promise
Traitors Fate
Throne Cleaver
Strykers Surehand
Steel Sybil Z-14
Quick Fang
Night Terror
Negative Space
Just in Case
It Stared Back
Honor's Edge
Hagakure
Gold Tusk
Future Safe 10 (not so future safe huh?)
Eternities Edge
Double-Edged Answer
Death's Razor
Crown Splitter
Complex Solution
Abide the Return
Swords you are giving us back in season 11 as world drops
Honors Edge
Steel Sybil Z-14
Why would you take the character specific swords? The uniqueness is gone once these are.
Steel Sybil Z-14 =Void
Honors Edge = Arc
??????????? = Solar
Are you going to commit Seppuku if you let us down? (New exotic emote idea)
This is just 1 example, you are doing this to all weapon archetypes. LMG, all but 1?
Am I overreacting? Possibly but you haven't done a great job with transparency and reassurance lately.... plus you are sunsetting 90% of our weapons

2 RepliesThis seasons in a nutshell: Bungie: Then, “HEY! Check out these dope sword changes!” Now, “Now say goodbye to them”

8 RepliesEdited by TotalDramaGamer: 5/25/2020 3:57:35 AMThis post is truly enlightening on the situation. Naysayers: "Sunsetting is good because it'll stop power creep." Naysayers on this post: "LOL, those weapons sucked [redacted] so no one will miss them anyway. Hur dur." Me: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm -- Seriously, this isn't power creep. This is just loot deletion. Nothing less, and certainly nothing more. It does nothing for the game except let there be 'less stuff'. Wow, much progression, many impressed.

It's not just swords it's all types of weapons from bows to pulse's so many weapon types are being removed from play there is simply no way bungie will be able to cover all the archetypes of weapons so some weapons won't even have viable archetypes moving forward, it's going to be an absolute shit show an will take bungie all of year 4 to fix more of there mistakes the game or community wanted.

Bungie said they will not nerf Whisper when they released it but they did it anyway which was like sun setting it. It was an optional gun used by streamers to make fastest kill videos a lot. No one was forcing that gun and Bungie solution was to kill the gun rather than fix something else. Anyways, point is that Bungie has rarely given a correct solution for any problem in the past so sun setting is most likely a wrong solution anyway. Also, I think they will resell same guns again rather than new ones (fourth horseman for season pass) etc. so I don't trust their judgement. Sorry.

2 RepliesEdited by Cayde’s Spicy Ramen(Adept): 5/28/2020 12:57:23 AMSword logic. But in all seriousness, they are just trying to get rid of the sword meta...😂okay couldn’t take that seriously

3 RepliesEdited by Totally Not Myers: 5/27/2020 5:17:22 PMDon't forget they're sunsetting ALL legendary bows, and all but 1 automatic pulse rifle.

Edited by Gunship: 5/27/2020 9:20:10 AMSeppuku lol 😁 I love it

10 RepliesLets be honest here they all suck except for strykers, abide the return, and the menegerie swords... and I guess night terror is good too😂

Re-cycl-ing ♻️ To save energy!
-
They should make exotic class specific swords. Warlocks sword: Daybreak - exotic warlock sword. Perk 1: Crack of dawn. Replaces this swords heavy attack with a projectile. Grants a melee capability to the daybreak super. Perk 2: Solar flare. Collecting ammo for this weapon also grants solar super energy, but prohibits use for the duration of Well of radiance.

Bungie is -blam!-ing up and there's nothing we can do to stop it.

7 RepliesItems can't get sunset if you don't play endgame. *Big brain*
-
1 ReplyBro I have 8k kills on my throne cleaver that would suck so much
-
7 RepliesSunset all swords to make room for real weapons. You know ones that fire projectiles cuz this is a shooter
-
18 RepliesIgnore the fall expansion...
-
Playing devils advocate here, there could be a possibility of the D3 weapons being introduced with the fall expansion as its basically D3 shoved into D2. There may be an influx of those weapons, although if this isn't the case I see a big issue surrounding certain weapon types like swords/bows/pulse rifles
-
9 RepliesIf I wanted to play with swords then I would play final fantasy or Zelda. This is a shooter. Not a sword combat
-
2 RepliesI'm sure the class specific will get reprised I should hope lol

1 ReplySun setting items sounds like a bad idea. But I’m not sure yet as it hasn’t happened. I’m going to wait until it does and see how it affects my play style. Seeing as how I can still use these items in the majority of activities, I don’t see it making a big deal. My hope is that Bungie starts making new weapons that we will want to use in end game activities. NEW ones, not re-skinned ones with new names slapped on. I believe they said new weapons would be introduced in a recent TWAB. I will say I am hesitant about giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one. They’ve burned me too many times.

4 RepliesUnfortunately; you are incorrect. Gaming psychology on a broad, well-established, captive audience, suggests a constant striving to entrench followers to be consistently exposed to wide swings in behavior. Taking the candy away from the baby that's comfortable with their toys, leads to newer dependencies that continue to pay the abuser. In this case; it's the owner and Eververse. Learn basic Behavioral Science and do what's best for you and yours - not what's best for a proven abuser. Break away from your enabler.

3 RepliesThey also said they’re going to buff slug shotguns but they’re sunsetting all of them.
-
2 Repliesthe whole franchise has been sunsetted when D2 launched
-
Betcha there’ll be a season where they forget about linear fusion rifles, scout rifles, or rocket launchers and there just won’t be any options to use those weapons.

6 RepliesEdited by Infamous067: 5/24/2020 6:07:48 PMEveryone talks about power creep but when has anyone gone crazy farming over swords? I only even grind for swords depending on its look, a ton of people misunderstand destiny players. Most of us don’t want stronger weapons, we want new weapons with a unique design and feel for them. The seraph weapons this season are actually not bad, they are decent and they look awesome but the event itself is what killed the hype for farming them. No one wants to do seraph towers for hours and hours, its mind numbing and its annoying. Last season got it right, we could farm the mode and we had the ability to choose what we wanted to get. I could care any less for the meta or a bs power creep that doesn’t exist, I just want to use new weapons man, I want to use new weapon archetypes and use new and engaging perks. I understand there is only so much bungie can do in terms of weapon looks but come on man how hard is it to add a silencer? Or a grip? Or even some flashlights or lasers that increase hip fire accuracy? We don’t need stronger weapons to enjoy destiny, we need variety and fresh looks

2 RepliesI'm not going to lie this made me look twice so points for that but to be honest I'm okay with this happening

3 RepliesDeaths razor, throne cleaver, and gold tusk are menagerie specific so they wouldn’t be in the world pool. Nor would abide the return. If you’re going by that world pool list, that’s probably not accurate. If you have seen Bungie write those swords specifically sunset somewhere, one more sad thing to lose. That world pool looks horrid.
