Dear Bungie if you havent noticed yet, WoW is immense, explorable, there are mounts to collect and to use in game. There are pets to team, there are countless story missions, dungeons, races, classes, dozens of talents and rotations to create dozens of different builds, old solo raids to relive the story or take a piece of equipment to transmog (and the old raids are feasible given that the power level remains fixed while the character level increases, making you feel powerful), you can save equip settings and recall them with a single key. And yet grind and farming are sometimes maddening. Really. Not everybody has the Scarab Lord power inside /s.
Destiny is an FPS, the world is limited in exploration (no, we still cant go to those mountains) so the sparrow is of little use, spaceships are useless as they only serve as decoration in the loading screens, there are three races and three classes with three subclasses each.
With the last few seasons grind and farming have become boringly overwhelming, lately if one wants a decent ornament he has to buy it at Eververse (see Recluse or Raiden Flux), the story stumbles and gives you a minimum of satisfaction only by reading the lore, the vendors are useless, the crucible is not balanced, connection errors reign supreme, quests like "The Lie" come out with absurd requirements so much that you are forced to put multipliers x5 x 10 and then they are bugged. To remember a good content you have to go back to Zero Hour, PoH was decent too...
And despite this, you continue to want it more and more similar to WoW, you only reply to posts about the use of a word by an NPC and you are only focused on making money with microtransactions. It seems that you don't even know what to do with this game, except the money of course. Or rather, you want to make a game that is impossible to make without making it even more boring. For you in an FPS the fun is to farm a public event endlessly? Is it in that insult to creativity that the Guardian Games have been? As a gaming company you want to make money, it's legit. Too bad a video game has to BE FUN otherwise it has failed in the first place, and any of your recent content is an anthem to laziness. And upcoming content seems to not care about story, strikes, players, old technical issues. It just adds more FOMO, grind.
When you will have only the new lights and streamer's fanboys and you will have lost all the normal players who loved this game since D1 it will be too late.
Bow to the Lord, bow to Luke Smith.

60 RepliesIts not trying to be World of Warcraft. ..and you are trying to limit what Destiny is to the parts of what it is that you are comfortable with. Lastly, Sunsetting----which all loot games and MMOs do----is a necessary part of the solution to the boring loot problem.

4 RepliesThank you for mentioning that the story is only really there in lore. Nobody else talks about that... That's a big part of where the seasonal model is failing. There IS NO story being told, contrary to what we were led to believe would be the case back before Shadowkeep dropped. We were told these seasons would tell a story leading up to the next expansion and instead we got Saint back but that had nothing to do with this season except for web lore about the Psions we fought, then we got 1 cutscene at the beginning of the season, nothing since and we'll get 1 more at the end of the season resolving the "threat". Apparently next season's story is going to be better but my question is, why has it taken until next season to be good? That is assuming next season's story is even good let alone that it exists... They shouldn't be churning out shit and charging us for it just to give 1 half decent season before major expansions for the sole purpose of selling the September expansions. They shouldn't be telling the majority of the story via text format, if I wanted that kind of story I'd read a book. I remember a time when lore in Destiny was meant to fill in previous events, before we came into the picture. Now it's the only way bungie will tell the damn story outside of September expansions because they don't want to make story missions or cutscenes that show isnthe cool stuff that's happening in the web lore. I want to see Osiris and Ana meet the Darkness, not read about it. What happens when we meet Calus or Savathûn? Are we going to read about that too? Ooh I can't wait.

1 ReplyI hope it never becomes like WoW. Because if I wanted something like WoW, I'd just play WoW. Destiny needs to be its own game, and not just a rehash of something else.
-
2 RepliesYeah cause this game really sucks
-
Try swtor if you want a sci fi wow. It’s still getting updated and clinging to life

The living mountain dew flavored dorito by the name of Luke Smith thinks it will be. That is why this game is now worse than Anthem.

15 RepliesLol, stop comparing Destiny to other games. Destiny may be a hot piece of trash right now, but even someone who hardly knows anything about comparing genres can tell you the Destiny is quite a unique game. That's also why I believe that Destiny has gone in the direction it has. There really isn't any competition on the market for the type of game that Destiny is. Could you imagine if there were another FPS Space Action MMO RPG looter-shooter out there? But with actual content, balanced gameplay (PvE and PvP), deep lore, and didn't drip feed you a story for 2 years? Bungie might be more inclined to clean up their act if that was the case 😏

4 RepliesI do very much agree about this point. A big reason I like destiny is because there really isn’t a game out there like destiny. It just doesn’t feel right when the devs say they want the game to be more like other games and not the unique individual game that it is.

1 ReplyKhamael you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

-blam!- plays wow in 2020 lol

3 RepliesEdited by HellfireEclipse: 5/20/2020 10:59:46 PMWoW sucks. Its fun for about 20 levels of dungeons, but then the macro fatigue sets in. The auction house is extremely expensive or dirt cheap. No way to make gold. Graphics are awful ps1 polygons.

2 RepliesAlso. World of warcraft is boring.
-
14 RepliesWorld of warcraft is hot garbage. I wouldnt compare destiny to that. No wonder its going down the shitter if thats their model.
Destiny will never be like World of Warcraft.
...or WoW, Halo or whatever the director is just throwing in this game other than giving the game it's own identity.

9 RepliesEdited by Ghodzilla: 5/21/2020 3:18:55 AMLuke Smith's atrocious leadership is killing Destiny. Being the WOW player who unlocked An Quraj may be his claim to fame, but it doesn't make him a competent game designer. Destiny is trash again. It bounced back under Chris Barrett in Forsaken, but he is probably working on the new game Bungie is making with the Chinese. Sunstting armor is the worst idea yet. It makes masterworking and getting armor with perfect stats into a yearly, god-awful, mindless, never ending grind. How is that a good idea or good game design?

1 ReplyHow dare you crush Datto's dreams! >;3

3 RepliesFor one to think that Destiny 2 = World of Warcraft, is to be delusional.

1 ReplyI would hope so. I like shooters

1 ReplyNever played WOW but I hate all the influence it has had over destiny. Or when some loser uses wow to defend a bad move Bungie is about to make. WOW DID IT 🥴🤡

3 RepliesIt's always the same song and dance, every time content runs dry in Destiny 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and 10. Do me a favor, never compare Destiny 1-ANYTHING to WOW or any other game for that matter. I don't care if its good or bad. This game is not WOW and thank god for that, there is simply no comparison between the two games and there never will be. Destiny will never be WoW in any way shape or form. It will never be WOW. Did I mention that it will never be WoW or have anything to do with Wow or play like WoW or be a game that can be put in the same category as WOW? By the way that's a good thing, Luke Smith is a known WoW fan and guess what, that means nothing because this isn't WOW.. He's done good, He's done bad.. probably more bad then good, in the end he is only human and is keeping this game we all love to play alive. The WoW comparison is insulting to anyone who has ever played WoW or Destiny. This is like comparing the Big Bang theory with a singularity, you're getting nowhere fast. I don't care what state the game is in currently, it's posts like this that adds fuel to the fire. It's not helpful in any way shape or form. Quite honestly this season has been pretty bad but this is what we got while the entire Bungie team was working from home during this pandemic, and for that I have to say pretty damn good when we could of had nothing (more nothing). I <3 U all, but I'm sorry WoW is Poooooooo compared to Destiny's worst day on 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 or 10. Two different games for one and second there hasn't been another game like Destiny EVER. Nothing compares at all, nothing exists that's like Destiny, remember that. It's comparable to NOTHING. FACTS.

Which is why I laugh so hard when people claim Destiny to be an MMO. 🤣🤣

1 ReplyGuardian games be like Yo we heard you liked bounties so we made a bounty to do bounties so you can bounty while you bounty

I would love for them to change the class systems back to D1 style. Pick Your melee, Grenade, and Super. Then you have a pull of perks to optimize your build for how you'd like to play.
