I get that power level is integral to the game but if you think about it, what purpose does it actually serve?
When you were 750 and so were the enemies, it was x level of challenge. You level up, go into the new activity, and its still x level of challenge. The dreg is higher level, you're higher level, the numbers are bigger but it still takes the same shots to kill. What's the -blam!-ing point?
It's an artificial mechanic to keep people grinding. It's just a hamster wheel that serves no purpose. I get that it's a common mmo trope, and if sunsetting weapons wasn't an issue woild be fine.
But why is it being used as an excuse/mechanism for sunsetting, when power level itself is a vacuous and meaningless concept, which only exists to drive players to grind for the sake of levelling up? The method and the aim are the same damn thing!

Sadly, I agree. I'm glad they did some "house cleaning" for S12, but I've been hanging out with noobs for days to get myself from 1050 to 1120 or whatever. Wearing ugly, useless gear and weapons that I hate just for fear of being left behind. Either make upgrade modules easier to obtain or...something, idk. "Vacuous" great word btw. And fitting.

I agree. Let's say you're power level 1000 and attempt an activity set at 1050. You're gonna get stomped. But enter a 750 activity at 1000 power, it was no easier than it was 250 power levels ago.
