Can Three tap max resilience Gaurdians now with thorn!?!?
Cause I’m sitting pretty with 108 resilience but still getting three tapped with thorn🤬

Yes. Resilience doesn't help as much against precision weapons(hand cannons, scouts) as it does tracking weapons (assault rifles, smgs).

After about 70 or 80, you gain 2 or 3 instead of 1. Thorn crits for 68, not including the poison damage that stacks 5 times doing 2 damage (7 while buffed) and proccing 4 or 5 times. Let me do the math for you. 68x3=204. That's more damage than you have health/ shields. While buffed, it can 2 tap, more reliaby if combined with Foetracer's damage buff. Let's say the poison procs 4 times. That's 68x2=136+28(2)=192, you'll survive if you have 70 resilience and that's if the guy isn't using Foetracer and it's buff that activates after your health reaches about 30%. Otherwise since this game likes to round decimals up (even if it's 50.01 like TLW before the rework), that's PROBABLY (I don't know the exact numbers) 136+32(2)=198. You would need 80-90 resilience to survive. Let's look at it unbuffed. It already 3 taps without the buff or the poison. Continuing with the assumption the poison procs 4 times, that's 204+8(3)=224. With Foetracer, that's PROBABLY 204+12(3)=240. So by all means, feel free to explain how it's so outrageous that a 150 HC can 3 tap when the numbers clearly say they're supposed to, especially with it's poison damage. Edit: You want to complain about your maxed resilience not doing anything for you, especially against an exotic with high dps? How do you think I feel with my hunter having maxed mobility, top tree nightstalker (bonus sprint speed), stompees (even more sprint speed), and a lightweight weapon in hand still being outrun by warlocks and titans with half the mobility still moving faster than me either because of a jump ability, light attack spam, or because supers like Spectral or Fist increase sprint speed by that much? If you're asking for a buff to resilience, NO! Not unless hunter sprint, mobility, and/ or stompees gets a buff too. If you're asking for Thorn to be nerfed, NO! Edit 2: Forgot to do this when going on about the damage while buffed. 68x3=204+28(3)=288. If you were to somehow be hit 5 times, that's 204+28(5)=384. While buffed, it can almost if not kill a super with 60 resilience in 5 crits, that's without Foetracer's buff. Again, of all exotic primaries, it's dps is among the highest, why is it a problem for it to 3 tap when it's damage unbuffed with Foetracer is about the same as pre-nerf Luna/ NF?

You only need 50-60 resilience maximum. 100 is just pointless

2 RepliesResilience only defends against specific ammo types, thorn has poison, which bypasses your shields.... Resilience is just shields.....

You can’t avoid a three tap with thorn or any 150 in optimal range. What you can avoid is a 3 tap made up of 2 headshots, 1 body body shot at 6 resilience but three headshots will always get the job done. 6 resilience will also avoid a thorn 2 tap when the soul devourer perk is active.

Edited by dead fighter 3: 5/16/2020 9:41:48 PMMax resilience will only protect you from certain things, Thorn three taps due to its Poison being true damage and ignoring your res stat, making you weak enough to 3 tap. What your res will protect you from though is damage buffs on weapons, kill clip for example, or Eriana's Vow in empowering rift or with a damage buff can't 1 tap you to the head and snipers can't 1 tap you to the body with damage buffs Res doesn't change what it takes for weapons to drop you though. A 180 will still drop you 4 shots to the head no matter what 0 res, 4 shots, 100 res, 4 shots. Thorn is a 150 and will 3 tap with all headshots, but thanks to the poison it can also 3 tap body or 1 to the head and 2 to the body. Best counter for Thorn though is positioning or E-Rounds Thorn can't handle the bloom that Explosive Rounds apply, which is why Sunshot or Trust can counter Thorn so easily.
