Thats what they did in d1 with the vog weapons. I didnt even bother to grind for em when they brought them back. The messed up thing is that they tried this BS in destiny1 and everybody hated it. They didnt learn from that so they will be doing it again....i mean wtf kinda logic is that? There has to be a better way to deal with the powercreep and vault space. Make it so that we can save our god roll weapons in the vault so that we can pull them back out anytime we want. This can be applied to all gear and we would have solved the vault problem. As for the powercreep, they can just design new encounters better to provide a challenge. You can leave the players power intact and still have a fun and challenging encounter. D1 did it at one point. D2 nightfalls have nothing but negative modifiers. D1 had a bunch of negatives but it also had two positives for the players. It was a random elemental burn and a weapon burn(kinetic, special or heavy). That made running nightfalls and strikes fun it also had strike scoring.
