This post is mainly for a developer, I have recently learned that a group of players on Xbox are trying to get into my account on Xbox 1. I learned that I was on their list yesterday 05/14/2020 doing a Crotas End raid with LFG's. A player asked me who was playing on my account, and my account is signed in on 3 Xbox's, mine, my sisters, and my dads so I am the only one that plays on my account because they only use it to game share very rarely; I have also been seeing as all of my other friends are getting hacked and their characters being deleted. It would mean a lot to me if character backups where possible because I know for a fact that no one wants 3+ years of blood sweat and tears tossed strait down the drain by some greedy jealous scumbags, looking for revenge on someone that has done nothing to them. Here are some of the others that have been affected by these series of unfortunate events (Their names have been made anonymous due to the Code of Conduct Bungie.net has put in place): Friend1: he was the first to be hacked; he woke up one morning to find that all of his characters have been deleted and to find his account destroyed to no return; whenever he tried to recreate his characters he would find them missing the very next day. Friend2: he is a good friend of Friend1's and has since had both his discord and his Xbox accounts infiltrated. he is a computer guy so he got rid of the problem fairly fast and managed to get his account back soon. These are just a few of my friends who have lost everything. I have posted pictures of proof that these hackers have done horrible things that could only be reversed if Bungie could make backups of players character profiles. Pictures: [REDACTED] Please note this isn't a post to drill Bungie, this is a post to explain why having some sort of character backup deal would help most of the community that has had something like this happen to them. The idea is that if your characters have been compromised you could send in a report to Bungie and they could get your last character save prior to them being deleted and put them back so that we don't have to unwillingly grind the game out to get back the things that we have worked too hard to get. this helps a lot of both sides of the community, especially those who have lost characters to a hacker that have done loads of Trials of Osiris and iron banner and Sparrow racing league, this could also be a great way to stop hackers from getting the idea of getting into your account and deleting your hard work because you could just get it all back in a blink of an eye. -Thank you!
