i have no words for this stupid thing called "sunsetting"
"Right now, if a new Legendary weapon isn’t better than the current best-in-class, there is no reason to replace your existing weapon with it."
"If a new Legendary weapon is better than the current best-in-class, we risk power creep, removing challenge from the game, or making the item mandatory/the only option for challenging activities."
i am just jaw dropped at the reasons, new stuff cant be better so does that mean they will be worse?
and if it not better then no reason to keep it, maybe make better weapons that or more unique but nope kinda want to bet the skel group working on the game are getting hate now, i wonder what the community reaction when you do make weapons worse then the current ones

1 ReplySome people are missing the broader impact of this. Destiny is completely built around weapon collecting and the rush of having what others don't first. Now nobody will give a crap what they have and even if they do it'll be short lived....which would potentially work in a game where the overwhelmingly amazing content drives player motivation, but that will simply not be the case in Destiny 2. They have neither the resources nor talent to provide anything resembling a steady stream of quality content.

I'm not gonna play this game just to grind for weapons for the same exact boring content. It's insane. What do I care what weapon or armor I use if I've done the content a million times. Either make actual content or end the game, work on Matter and be done with this franchise once and for all. Stuff like this is all nonsense smokescreen to debate even more nonsense when the actual problem is their CONTENT is complete trash.

20 RepliesThe point is. They cant continue to make weapons better. Because you will end up with weapons that have 100 range and 100 stability. And then people would complain because of that. Scrapping current gear means that they can make gear with the same stats as a current weapon but on a new weapon.
