I'm playing some Iron Banner (So far no artifact glitches) and I'm using my all time favorite crucible weapon: The Erentil FR4
A few games in I managed to get top of the leaderboard and some Unbroken guy invites me to a party to tell me how much I crutched on it.
Even though he himself was rocking Spare / Mindbenders / Stompies.
Like why do I get all this hate and when I talk back about their equally skilless loadout, without fail, every. Single. One. Says that it's better or that it takes more skill than Erentil.
Like why. It's always the shotgun users, no one else.

Let me break it down since 10 out of 10 x I will use Fusions over shottys for PVP. Fusions were 100% "crutches" if your roll had "back up plan", but those days are over and hopefully for good. Fusions now, are exactly where they need to be. Dominate but not OP (Bastion works exactly as it should, annoying as F0ck I know.) But I have "requirements" that must be met before I bring mine out to play. 1) The enemy team must have 3 or more shotty scrubs. 2) The enemy team has 2 super shotty scrubs. Otherwise I rock my trusty smuggs, feel free to check my rolls on my Titan. Dominate I know. 😎 Above all "shotty rushers" are just mad they can't close the cap.

Edited by Eucadia: 5/14/2020 5:34:03 PM"If Fusions are so easy and OP, why aren't they used more than Shotguns or Snipers?". I really don't buy the idea that it's because the majority of players: 1) Don't find Fusions fun and sacrifice their performance (KD, Winning) over "fun" (especially on Comp modes). 2) Have a gentleman contract when it comes to Fusions (avoid using them because "it's too cheesy"). I mean.... 1) Since when do Noobs care more about "having fun" then abusing OP stuff on Competitive modes in order to win as much as possible? 2) Since when do Noobs care about showing sportsmanship by avoiding certain loadouts? I didn't see anyone care about being fair or showing sportsmanship when they and their entire family were spamming Hardlight against walls (Pre-Nerf).

Here's the thing. People think that if you don't play there way and you play your way then your trash. That's how alot of this community thinks. If they get killed buy a weapon that you are using and it must be broken because there is no way anyone is better then them. Here is what you do. Run what you want and dont care what someone says. I'm not that good at pvp. But what I do is use what I enjoy and just try to get better. 9 out of 10 times I look back and go what did I do wrong. Also I hate shotgun apes as well but that just because I have such a hard time countering them. It's my biggest weekness. Just so all the people who run shotguns know I dont have anything against you it's just that that style of play I have such a hard time against.

1 ReplyEdited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 5/14/2020 12:28:20 PMIt's up to the playstyle. Been having fun with bastion recently and can tell there's places for both shotties and fusions. If someone apes towards me across the open from beyond shottie OHK range, he loses. If I try pushing into shottie OHK ranges in tight quarters or get caught in there, I lose. Strenghts and weaknesses. If there's a smart ape (*gorilla grunts*) holding tight quarters somewhere ready in his OHK range I know I can't push into there and just gotta go somewhere else. Likewise he should be aware what to do where and what not. Really does come down to gamesense and positioning. You dying in pvp is never the fault of the guy who killed you.

1 ReplyImagine having to rely on special ammo at all. (This post made by the #Sidearm Gang.)
Sorry, all out of salt.
-
Lol you just outplayed them and their pissed😂
-
1 ReplyAt least shotguns incentivize aggressive gameplay as opposed to being a passive creature with a pulse/auto and fusion. Fusions are hitscan, least skilled weapon in the game.
-
1 ReplyHigh impact fusions were a problem. Right now they are fine. Bastion is an exception
-
No it's the same everywhere. People hate on fusions. People hate on shotguns. People hate on meta users even if they used it before the meta. I see it all the time, fireteam members trash on people for using meta or a shotgun or a fusion while they themselves also use those guns.
-
Bro same it’s so fun embarrassing shotgun rushers especially if they are flawless or unbroken
-
Because in the right hands, fusion rifles are the best shotgun counter. Once they die by one they directly point to Fusions Rifles users being non skilled, rather than them not going in with a strategy.
-
Edited by blade329: 5/14/2020 3:38:51 PMThat's just one butt hurt snowflake player, who didn't like getting beat. I'm a newer shotgun ape myself, and I don't hate fusion rifle users at all. lol.
-
Because fusions are and certainly were a potent shotgun counter. So the shotgunner streamers complained and complained and complained and so Bungie nerfed the hell out of Fusions. Result: you almost never see Fusions now ( legendaries around 0.5% total usage, Bastion, an exotic, being the only outlier) and Shotgun usage us through the roof and is going to get much worse. That a Stompees, Hunter, Sparebender complains - every skill-less crutch in the book !!! - is an example of how deluded players are.
-
They hate them cause it counters there play style just like how snipers hate shot guns
-
20 RepliesFusions are 0 skill weapons whereas shotguns require precision sliding and aiming. Shotguns are the highest skilled weapons in this game and they need buffed.
-
1 ReplyFusion is a passive play style. You shoot the ape when he charges you or corner camp and map before he gets into the 8m range for shotguns. The aggressive players don’t like this fusion/camper play style claiming it slows down the pace of play.
-
Because fusions are the perfect counter for their ape-crutch, and how dare someone kill them
-
7 RepliesAs a person who has over 10k kills with shotguns in destiny I don’t hate fusion players. I hated Erentil cause it was stupidly broken. But since nerf it’s fine. I only hate snipers cause it’s the most cowardly play-style. And the game rewarding sniper headshots due to flinch make playing them unbearable since you cannot fight them and have to concede every lane they are in or you put your team at a huge disadvantage by getting picked.
-
9 RepliesWhy do fusion rifle users have disdain for SG users? I personally use shotguns, but fusions are very very strong and more consistent; I used fusions in trials last week
-
I’m a shotgun user but I don’t have a shotgun. Does that count
-
1v1 mE bRo.
-
I got a nice wizened rebuke it's super enjoyable vaporizing incoming apes
-
Most of it comes from pre-nerf hate when they could operate well outside the effective range of the majority of primary weapons with high consistency and be damn near incontestable. I still think they one bang a little bit too far but it’s not nearly as bad now so I don’t get as salty as I used too.
-
Apes get mad when their favorite rock no longer works as well as it used to. Be patient, they just need time to figure out how to use the new weapons.
-
because it’s a counter
-
7 Repliesi mean. i hate both kinda but dont message people for it.. special ammo just needs to be gone if u respawn. and bungie needs to put special bricks over the map. cause special weapons are kinda crutchy (shotties, fusions, snipers)
