All of the things that make this game “live service” suck.
Reoccurring activities suck.
Events suck.
Quests for exotics suck.
Everything that you do includes bounties, kill x with y, lost sectors, and/or public events.
“Go do something old and repetitive to progress an unimaginative, boring quest”
I’m sure you’ll have a really nice skin in Eververse for our brand new, old shotgun that supposedly got blown up when the old tower was destroyed.
Bravo, Bung. Another stellar piece of content 🙄

Same. Saw what it was, went to orbit and sat for a few minutes. Logged out. Saw that they changed the requirements. Still not interested.

More than what I've done I've not even logged in yet.

To think this garbage game will carry on to PS5.
-
Well, you got farther than I did.

tactlock you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Guardian: "Can't do that." Ana: "Why not?" Ghost: "Social Distancing." Ana: "What? But you'll be six feet apart from fellow Guardians practically the whole time!" Guardian: "Tell that to the Fallen, Hive, Vex, and Cabal."

3 RepliesI think this is what happened. Team had a meeting to discuss how they will break it to the bosses on why seraph towers was a failure and no one played it. So someone came up with the idea of making everyone forcefully do it so the numbers will look better, and they can claim it as a seasonal milestone achieved. Luke will get his bonus and the devs will get their pizza and burgers for their hard work.

2 RepliesI don't mind these things being bonuses carrots to chase after, but it's the fact that the core PvE gameplay revolves around this is disheartening, especially for someone who already can't stand PvE for the most part, with boring, predictable spawns and really terribad AI that can't fight their way out of a paperbag without getting caught on an annoying outcropping on an otherwise flat surface, and can only be a 'challenge' when given so many OP mechanics to make up for the lack of skill and self-learning that these mobs cannot do that all it does is teach players how to memorize encounters. Nothing wrong with having activities like that, because they can help hone players' skills and teach basic game mechanics through them, but when the actual pinnacle PvE activities themselves are fixed, immutable, unchanging (but for some minor tweaks), non-dynamic, with bosses that can be easily cheesed no matter how difficult Bungie try to make them, just because players get clever when bosses get annoying to kill, rather than fun. It just becomes a silly meta-game of one-upping between devs 'balancing' the game to be more 'challenging', and players who thought of a way to get around annoying mechanics in the game instead of playing them through because they're fun. These PEs, etc. could be content _in addition_ to actual content, but bounties and quests alone do not a MMO make... at least, not one that can hope to last and maintain a playerbase. I barely spent a few years playing MMOs despite their supposed 'addictive' nature (and to be sure, many were and still are designed that way deliberately), yet they failed to engage me because the gameplay did not keep me coming back, and neither did the PvP. I wasn't interested in Raids and other multiplayer activities because they took so much time and effort to organize with other real people who all have lives that don't revolve around gaming, and there was little margin for error unless people had the time to waste. Whereas I spent decades playing text-based MUDs, a couple that involved friendships and relationships that moved offline as well, and I think Destiny has the ability to be that kind of place too, if Bungie would just stop messing about and treating players like a cash cow but instead concentrate on making a game and community that is so fun to play, that very few people will play it to troll or grief, but to actually want to be a part of the community, a living entity within the game world itself, and as a member of the community. It's sad to see so many players (especially on the forums) who were so excited about the Destiny franchise, devolve into petty bickering, infighting, bullying, harassing, trolling, because of a lack of good community management and game development that seems insistent on pitting players against each other rather than work cooperatively. I recognize it's not only the fault of Bungie, but when players are constantly being exploited and manipulated for no reason than to keep metrics artificially raised and to promote in-game purchases instead of playing the game, with makework so onerous and tedious to keep people artificially 'engaged' instead of playing because they actually want to just sit around in the gameworld and interact with other players and NPCs because the 'verse is so fascinating and you just want to escape into it. Oh, and a lack of dedicated servers makes playing this game a risk to every Bungie customer who decides to login, risking getting DDoSed any time they interact with anyone in the game. :P During a global pandemic where people are encouraged to stay inside, people are more reliant than ever on always-on internet access, and one petty troll who decides they don't like you because you spanked them in Trials, decides to take down your entire household's internet access for hours at a time? I'd imagine from a legal perspective, that would leave Bungie in an actionable position if a Bungie customer were to suffer material damages or even personal injury due to lack of internet access resulting in harm. GET DEDICATED SERVERS, BUNGIE.

Literally logged in and picked up the quest did 3 public events on EDZ, saw 2% progress and turned the game off.....thanks Bungie.

1 ReplyIt’s vanilla all over again, except we need EVERYONE to do it just to get a shotgun I doubt anybody will use after a week

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
If it had bern complete Public Events I’d have participated. However it’s actually complete Seraph Tower events, so I’m not bothering with it. -
I did some Public Events was to tired to play any other game anyway, just to discover by a youtuber it's Seraph Tower event that counts only, yikes not going to do a single one.

56 RepliesSerious question: what were you expecting from a free quest plopped into the game in the middle of the season?
-
Go back to the halo style of making games. Or innovate(take and improve on) the BL3 system. Story/loot game with multiplayer optional features, egc for all types of players( lone Wolf also), PVP with servers/ custom game modes and maps, drop this game as a service bullshit. Players wouldn't have to worry about server going down in pve or wait for maintenance. Oh and monetize my store in a way that greedy. There's a way of doing it right. But devs now days choose the sleazy easy way. Can see them doing any of this. They would mean they'd have to get a lot right and couldn't nickel and dimed most of you for six plus years.
-
2 Repliesand the worse is that everybody know that later on after all that grind they just going to came out and nerf the gun,
-
Guess we will really find out if the streamers are capable of carrying the game since only people who get paid to play the game will be bothering with this event.
-
Thank you, now I have no need to log on.
-
Its pretty clear by now this game is as good as it gets. Delay tactics on everything to stretch the game out as long as possible. Theres nobody working on it they drag developers off Matter to make out they are working on content in vidocs. Whilst community managers try and offset the frustration by polishing the turd. Lack lustre laze programing to delay us

I was going to log in to do this quest, then i read and heard what it was and didnt bother.

2 Replies'do public events' is one thing.. do hard mode towers to achieve 9,000,000 clears is quite another 🤔 I don't mind PEs, but this is jus delusional. "Play your way" they said.. 😅😂🤣
-
I love it so much, i will do all 9.000.000 myself. Not.
-
The get 25 super kills in rumble triumph for the emblem in guardian game was horrible and I didn't even bother with it. Then they drop this on us, only this is 100 times worse than that.

1 ReplyI did a couple of attempts and went on swtor instead. Didn't we just come out of a community wide event?
