Just the perk, Magnificent Howl. This nerf made both weapons not only bad in PvP, but PvE. I think the rate of fire being slowed was a good enough adjustment because it was pretty fast. The perk could be better like it once was.
Edit: It's not like we can proc the perk by shooting aimlessly. We have to click (or press) on heads, not bodies. It takes skill to use both weapons. Hitting 5500 or even 2100 can be hard for a lot of people (I know it was for me).
Edit #2: This post blew up while I was asleep...
A ton of people are saying that the gun is fine in PvP along with other valid points, and I understand why they say that. If Bungie can't buff it in PvP, what about PvE? It'll be a good weapon for regular use. Not saying it's bad now, but nothing about it in PvE makes it special. It's a bit weird to get the two precision hits and then having to aim for the body for that bonus damage.
There are mixed answers here but it seems like the majority wants the weapons to stay the same.
Edit #3: After using it more...both guns suck.

I would exchange mh for my range back. I gave up my nf for Galliard a month ago. I tried my nf again yesterday and it felt bad due to range fall off.
-
Leave it as is, Still damn strong and hits like a truck but not the monster it was making it the only choice for Cruci. It having taken a back step I think has been better for the variety of the the game.
-
No thanks. Instead buff 140s! I love spare and 150s but I like using 140s too
-
Edited by Pred: 5/13/2020 6:58:35 PMNah they’re fine
-
16 RepliesNo. They were the best guns in the game for over a year. Stfu and let something else be good now.
-
4 RepliesBack to 180 with better ranger and mag howl how it was originaly. Anyone who disagrees needs to stop using their busted autos and broken 0.47 ttk suros.
-
1 Replymy only response is please nerf hand cannons, they are still too effective especially on pc
-
Honestly I wish they would revert them back to 180’s but keep the current damage. It would make them really competitive in the meta and more forgiving. Right now they are just meh
-
Lets blow this up and keep it relevant force bungie to make a statement
-
1 ReplyLuna/NF: revert to 180 and unerf perk Recluse: revert damage to post shadow keep. Master of arms rework to 4 (maybe 5) seconds but kills do not reset the timer. Oxygen: dragonfly is very underwhelming and should be looked at. Explosion needs to be increased a lot when at Megunera x3 and add triple tap as a perk. Loaded question: kills reload weapon Breakneck: all autos need a pve damage increase
-
Edited by jyoung314: 5/13/2020 10:57:35 AMThey should un-nerf magnificent howl and balance them by making them exotics. Same with recluse and master of arms. ....but it's Bungie we're talking about here. 🤦♂️ And Bungie's sandbox team or whoever makes the decisions are morons. They would rather nerf and destroy a weapon, pissing players off who grinded for them, before coming to a logical, middle ground type of solution.
-
Should revert back to normal and be put into Pvp matches in a certain section for those who want to use it . To be fair NF was a game changer , imagine a team of NF against a team of NF
-
Only if you do one hundred million TRILLION BILLION ....
tier 4 BLIND WELLS MUHAHAHAHA
-
They're already baby mode hand cannons for PvP. They do the same thing every other hand cannon does, but with less recoil and allowing the player to get a bodyshot in their optimal TTK. They don't need to be stronger.
-
Do not expect any common sense changes to this game stop posting stop explaining. Lunas and NF are perfect the way they are you know why because that’s how bungie has it. How dare you think you know better than the scrubs piggy backing off of halo and d1 success from people that aren’t at the company any longer. Not to mention they’re a small 500 employee 300+ million a year company. Layoff!!
-
I’ll agree the rate of Fire was enough. Could even have the bonus only good for precision so body isn’t brought up to precision. Idkk I just hate how it’s dogsht in pve now and just ok in pvp. Especially since autos are right behind it in ttk but more forgiving.
-
Edited by DuBChiri2: 5/13/2020 12:21:04 AMI dont think it would be a good idea in pvp at it's original bonus. About 150% damage to use against supers would be so broken even if it doesnt effect the base guardians as much. Maybe like a 20% damage increase...but anywhere above that besides maybe 25% is just crazy.
-
16 RepliesIf they did, the gun could two shot in PvP again. I don't think they want that. They were great for 9 months. Now they are the best of their class.
-
Yes please, as for now they feel bad.And if they won't go back to their former glory, can I please get back the time it took me to obtain them back please?
-
5 RepliesWould be nice for them to be 180s again... Miss the 3 taps but If we got them back I want the 2 tap gone rework the perk so you only get extra damage on weakened enemies so you have to focus on the guy you just shot 2x then his friend or grenade before the fight ; )
-
2 RepliesFuk no. You're trash if you can't use them as they are now.
-
8 RepliesIdk what you talking about but it’s still solid in pve
-
In all honesty, I wouldn’t mind if they make magnificent howl work like it used to do before the nerf (being able to 2 tap or 2 crit 1body), as long as it stays as a 150 RPM hand cannon. For the weapons to return as 180 RPM and with MH being as powerful as before, the entire competitive playlist would be needed to be brought back to how it was before the changes (since getting LH and NF back then was an actual achievement). But personally, MH does need to be as powerful as it used to be
-
Since legendaries are going to be "sunset" in the very near future, they might as well be un-nerfed and brought back to their former glory for one last hurrah.
-
4 RepliesEdited by RussellMania: 5/12/2020 3:40:21 PMJust revert all the changes to them and make them exotic. Maybe make Mag Howl only proc on headshots as well to further keep them in line. Then make 140 rpm HC’s 2 crit 1 body. I’m pretty sure Luna and NF would be tamed in this environment.
-
They're still good even with nerf though heck they can take out magnificent howl and they'd still be good weapons overall.
