First of all I’ve played Destiny since the D1 beta, I have seen it all but I have not played near the amount I used to, now I normally watch from the sidelines waiting for things to improve before I come back and one thing I always notice is people saying the new DLC guns are useless.
That being said I DO own most pinnacle and ritual weapons, including mountaintop and recluse.
Now, with that out of the way let me ask you this. How is Bungie supposed to make weapons better than the current meta without breaking the game? Think about how powerful something better than recluse, Wendigo, or another god roll grenade launcher would be. Simple answer, they cant, therefore any weapons that come out automatically become useless.
A argument a hear people say all the time is that after Year 1 D1 weapons weren’t retired and everything was fine.
And yeah, but that was only two years of content vs going on FOUR now. The community wants to be able to continue using the most powerful weapons in Destiny’s history but also to have every new DLC’s weapons be relevant and useful.
I have used the same loadout since forsaken and this game has literally become a dull scrapping simulator compared to Destiny 1. If Destiny 1 was a pond with the depth of an ocean, Destiny 2 is an ocean with the depth of a pond. And until the community realizes they can’t have their cake and eat it too it will continue to be like that.

6 RepliesDropping in before the qq. Do we already know which weapons will retire? Kinda curious since I fell in love with the Lord of Wolves but it's a rarely used one and I worry I could lose it again.
