I played Destiny since the first Alpha. Liked a lot of things. Hated a lot of things.
Stopped playing the first time after the House of Wolves Expansion had me do a story mission in reverse and claimed it was new content.
I had stayed for Crota, but now went away until Siva.
Played D2, stopped playing at Osiris, came back when Cayde died.
But when I look back and think about the stuff I hated the most, it was the stupid grindy events. Do this, like that, a bazillion times. "We don't care what you like to play or enjoy to play, we f-ing tell you what to play. If, that is, you want to get your hands on this shiny new exotic..."
I hated that thing with the floating island, whatever the name was. Hated the cookies. Destiny is in a pretty boring, bland space right now. All I really enjoy is raiding. So when raiding wasn't an option for the Guardian Games, specifically for the triumphs, I was miffed. After I had on one day suffered through five forges in one sitting, I was done.
The whole principle of Guardian Games reminds me of the time when Destiny was a job, when it forced you to log in every day, do stuff, switch characters, do the same stuff, switch characters, do the same stuff, go farm materials.
Nothing new. Nothing interesting. Nothing engaging.
And it feels desperate. And boring and exhausting and grueling. Not to mention poorly conceived and poorly implemented.
So yeah.
Just wanted to say that.
