Hey,
So I'm pretty new - only started back a week ago after playing some a bit when it went free to play to lvl 20.
Right now i'm mostly enjoying it - loved the Red legion campaign, finished Forsaken Campaign.
My only problem is when it comes to strikes - i want to enjoy the content and its my first time experiencing it all but everytime I'm matched up everyone keeps rushing - its hard to complete bounties or enjoy the story points as its just a chore keeping up.
Noone talks in chat.
So my big question is whats the Rush?
Suggestions to how i can make it the experience better, because at the moment its whats holding me back from paying for a season pass.
Is there a noob setting in Matchmaking you can use to be team with like minded people?

What I do especially if I’m completing a “ kill 150 enemies bounty” is , I let them rush in , and take my sweet time killing the required enemies while enjoying the view. Eventually they will reach the boss room, and I’ll just be automatically teleported . Then I’ll focus more on killing the Ads. Honestly, I don’t like a wipe but if it happens more time for me to kill ads.

1 ReplyYou said you are new? Most of the destiny players you will see are veteran players that have completed these strikes over 500 times and are completely burned out from doing them. I am one of those rushers, I run my devour class with nezarecs sin and recluse and I just melt my way to the boss to then melt the guy as quickly as possible because strikes are just so boring. I dont know why but D1 strikes were slightly more fun, more enemies to fight, less time traveling and running and bosses were not annoying to deal with because they didn’t have immunity phases
-
It happens way too much. But they usually end up dying and when they they do i dont revive them. Fair is fair
-
We get rewards for beating the strike so I just try to beat it as fast as possible. It's my idea of fun in strikes
-
Most of us have run through these strikes countless of times and honestly most were never interesting to begin with. So naturally most players want to get it over with as quick as possible.
-
Douche Bags that's what. I hate it too.
-
It's Guardian Games. That's what EVERY Titan does and EVERY Hunter does now. Warlocks.... We're a bit slow. LMAO Just floofing around. xD I agree, it's VERY annoying

Players need to compete against each other to complete bounties in PvE activities. If someone needs to kill a certain type of enemy, you better believe they'll sprint ahead of the other players and blow throw as many as they can to finish the bounty so they can play normally again.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
Because of Bungie’s obtuse decision making regarding rewards. To get the Vanguard pinnacle reward you need to complete 3 strikes from the Vanguard playlist with the weekly elemental subclass. To get the gold strikes medal you need to complete 4 strikes. All from the Vanguard playlist so you can’t select a specific one to complete bounties (see below). To get the bright dust bounty you need to do something specific such as kill 150 Fallen and a Fallen boss. Which really only appear together in Exodus Crash. In general people just want them done so they can get the rewards and move onto the next activity. -
Talk again when you play a strike for the 200th time, But you only get the reward on the end of the strike

1 ReplyEdited by Jet2Holiday: 5/6/2020 10:17:21 PMStrikes are super boring for us that have been around for a long time and actually experienced D1 strikes which were way better than D2 strikes. I had to hop in to complete medals for the Heir Apparent and absolutely hated every second of it. I rushed strikes for the Strike Gold Medal to get the required amount cleared then did the manual clock edit exploit so I wouldn't match anyone on the strike playlist and just farmed kills in open world/lost sectors. Don't get mad at me go tell Bungie. Sorry.

1 ReplySome players don’t have any patience.
-
1 ReplyD1 strikes were so much better.... I would run them when I was bored and still had some fun.... d2 I don’t even turn on now when I’m bored.
-
Lol because d2 strikes are boring as hell compared to d1 strikes.
-
Its because people are assholes.
-
Cause ppl who’ve been playing D2 since 2017 and D1 since 2014 have run strikes thousands of times and just wanna get thru them for bounty completion/bright dust.
-
5 RepliesIt’s nice that you enjoy running strikes. I wish I could experience that feeling again. But for most of us, we only run strikes for xp, to complete bounties for powerfuls, or do whatever quest Bungie came out with that season that forces you to play a certain content. The rush is to do these as quick as possible to get the desired result, no reason to be in a strike longer than you have to. You don’t get anything extra for killing everything.

2 RepliesEdited by Jamestown01010: 5/7/2020 2:20:23 AMAfter doing the same strikes hundreds of times, it becomes basically a mechanical exercise to complete an objective or bounty. Very few people play them just for fun. Today I was trying to get fallen kills for the weekly bounty (Exodus Crash is the only fallen strike), and another player was running ahead causing all the enemies to de-spawn. A lot of people in this game are only out for THEIR objectives, which is how the game is designed unfortunately.
-
Well the playerbase has been playing these boring ass strikes far too long so it simply becomes clear this crap fast to go to other content. Unfortunately if you want to complete certain bounties try changing the date n time on your console then you will load in by yourself.
-
Usually people rush just to get their bounties/quests out of the way as soon as possible, especially since most bounties/quests only account for your personal progress only. Fireteams actually hinder these bounties/quests so people rush ahead so their teammates can't steal their kills. If you play the Nightfall (Ordeal) though, then people will typically rush because your score multiplier decreases after a certain length of time (down to 0x if you take too long). Better scores give better rewards. This happened even in D1 so older players eventually got used to it.
-
Strikes in D2 are boring normally it's literally just dialogue, fight ads, more dialogue, more ads, miniboss and ads, then healthgated boss fight ads again over and over. The modifyers add onto the misery only 3 good positive modifiers (not counting burns) and like idk like 40 something negative modifiers. No strike specific loot (only in NFs) so it just grinding bounties hella boring.
-
Yes, u can use the fireteam feature in bungie and post or join directly to other players who want to take time on events. Plenty of newer players who want to do the same, but for many players we have played the strikes so make times we usually are only running to complete pinnicle runs or bounties
-
2 RepliesWe’ve been doing the same strikes for 3 years already and they’re kind of boring now. Why wouldn’t you want to speed through it? If you get it done quicker, you can do another strike!
-
3 RepliesGot to look at it like this your still new so it’s all fresh an Exciting to you I understand that. But for us people that’s been playing the game for years running the same things over an over again for the gear. Like right now you do three strikes you get a plus 1 pinnacle. I’m knocking that shit out ASAP so I can get back to what I enjoy doing in the game
