So, what really causes the guitar error in Crucible/Gambit?

Specifically the one that causes the entire game to error out. Does anyone actually know? I'm just curious because the help page says it's because of too many items on the ground, but that can't be the only reason. Control doesn't allow for items to pile up because the few things that do drop disappear after a very short period of time. Gambit doesn't really allow it either, especially when the last time it happened was only 3 minutes into the match. So what's going on? It's not a local problem because I can look up the match on Braytech.org and see that every single player is listed as DNF for the matches in question which means that it hit everyone. The reports here omit that information. It's not a frequent error, so I'm not worried about incurring any punishments or looking for troubleshooting, just curious.

  • Not sure about crucible but gambit was plagued with them they said it was due to too many objects having to be rendered. This was bad for gambit where you can have motes, ammo and orbs all being generated at the same time in quantity

  • From what I can get, Guitar means that the Bungie server session taking care of whatever activity you were in crashed; the reason stated in the Help page for the Guitar error is one of the possible reasons, I presume, but not the only one...
