Listen I get it we're warlocks, practically the half of our class trees revolve around getting energy back. Devour warlocks constantly gives back grenades energy on kills. Attunment of Radiance already has benevolent dawn which literally give back rift, melee, and grenade energy. Attunment of Conduction has arc web which gives grenade energy back on chained arc web hits. Attunment of Chaos gives you back practically half of our grenade energy on charged melee hits.
The list goes on, if new exotics were to be developed for warlocks they need to encourage being more on the offense or defense rather than being so passive and getting energy back. Nezaracs Sin, and Crown of Tempest practically do the same thing, use and spam "x abilities to decrease cooldown of said x abilities". Eye of another world is a different story since it's such a passive helmet from year one, any cooldowns that it gives the player are minor at best and the armor 2.0 system blows this exotic out of the water in terms of decreasing cooldowns.
Give us something interesting to work with, here are a few examples that could spark some creativity:
1.) An exotic chest peice that increases armor resistance (something like maybe a 10% to 15% damage reduction, does not stack with overshields) while standing in your Healing rift. When enemies wander into an empowering rift they take consant damage (similar to titan barricades). Your rift deploys much faster.
2.) Exotic gauntlets that grants the user and surrounding allies a solar damage over time aura on charged melee kills. The tier of the enemy killed increases the duration and damage of this aura. Projectiles have a small chance to deflect projectiles. (Red bars = 7 seconds, Majors = 10 seconds, Bosses/Guardians = 15 seconds)
3.) Rework Eye of Another World to work similarly to Heart of Inmost Light. Using a melee, grenade, or rift improves your other abilities (for maybe 5 or 6 seconds), only rift cooldowns are increased. Healing Rift would heal the user faster, your recovery stat determines how much faster you get your health back in your rift. Improved Empowering Rifts have a small chance to start health recovery on kill with a small health bump (40 to 50 HP).
I don't expect any of these to be implemented in the game. They're just ideas or suggestions. Does anyone else have any ideas for better warlock exotics?

1 ReplyIf you think Nezarec's Sin works exactly like Crown of Tempests, you should take a closer look. Nezarec's Sin - Gain faster ability recharge, including super, when getting void kills. This activates a timer where your abilities recharge faster. It can be triggered by void ability and void weapon kills. This exotic also works with any subclass: void, arc, or solar; you just need to be using void weapons to utilize it with the other two subclasses. Crown of Tempests - Increases ability recharge upon getting arc ability kills and stacks up to 3x. Kills inside of Stormtrance extends its duration. This super gives greater ability recharge, but it requires the kills to be with abilities. And I don't believe this one grants faster super charge, but it does help the super by extending it.
