Does anyone think or expect we'll be able to venture into other areas on Earth? Such as the New York Radiation Zone, the swampy landscape of the Old Chicago Jungles or even the burnt ruins of London that Lakshmi mentioned before in D1? As much as I love exploring the solar system and its various destinations, more locations on Earth would be wonderful. There is so much more to Earth than the EDZ, I just would like something fresh to explore, maybe even on a grander scale if at all possible.

2 Replies"There is so much more to Earth than the EDZ" That is the problem with d2, more than half of the patrol zones don't work outside the "single player" story and end up as boring and a waste of space and resources. The EDZ is so badly designed it hurts to go there. I would love to see the original TTK design for EDZ. I don't think we will ever see any more locations on earth for d2. They bloated the game with so much useless shit so they can cry "waaaa game can't grow forever waaaa disc space waaaaa content hard waaa" and put out minimal effort content as an excuse.

2 RepliesImagine a huge city, New York or LA, (maybe even Seattle cause bungie HQ ftw) that's just completely over run with hive. Hive seeders have crashed and displaced ruined skyscrapers, long tunnels dug out from and around the metro system. Deep atrocities lurking in the murky ports or wretched catacombs.

I would love to see more of earth. It would be so cool if the entire patrol area was Manhattan. Like we already have enough patrol zones of the wilds or like a few buildings, but what i want to see is a patrol zone that is just one big urban area.

Under the sea, may be Pacific Ocean, it will turn the game into brand new world.

Wow... I came back to a lovely response session! This is what I enjoy seeing from our community (even, to an extent, the parts where we come to disagreements). I understand the frustration everyone here seems to agree upon, the fact that there was so much conceptual art teasing this massive universe to explore, only to see it scaled back kills me as well. However, here's to hoping for the best; Because despite what has happened, I feel it's our duty as players to keep the hope going, and to hopefully spark something in the current dev teams that'll make them create something great with this series. It's fine to be realistic, even at times hyper-critical when things are sour. Ha, I've detracted from the focus of this thread. Thanks for the likes all, I'll be back here and there to see if anything new develops. I welcome anyone who wishes to add their two cents to this thread to do so. See ya out in the field, Guardians! Per Audacia Ad Astra!

Frontier towns or spaceports would be cool.
-
I just want to see them make a proper open city environment, basically exactly like the EAZ from last years age of triumph but on much larger scale. That would be amazing.

6 RepliesYou forgot the MNZ. And the reason we don’t have much earth, is because earth is boring. People want space. SPACE!!!!!!!!!

1 ReplyI think an area centered around Old Russia as an expansion to the Cosmodrome would be really cool, blend the old with the new. That, and I think a snowy EDZ would be pretty neat.

Edited by Zeldafan92: 5/5/2020 1:07:45 AMI miss the old days when bungie's godly concept artists would produce landscapes of such captivating wonder and splendor in their concept art that you would feel excitement and anticipation for the future worlds you believed would come.... Well some of them did and some of them ...didn't Problem is bungie has always been good at getting people excited, but almost always, nowadays especially, the art belies how woefully small and unexpansive the worlds are , some are little more than skyboxes to uninspired maps while some like Europa have yet to see daylight. Hopefully the leaks have truth to them cause half the fun of games such as this, borderlands, ffxiv , fallout and any looter shooter, mmo or rpg out there is exploring as certain star trek captains would say; strange new worlds and new civilizations. Fun destiny has been lacking for a good while.

1 ReplyI always liked the atmosphere on Titan. I wish they would do more on there too.

Edited by Jamestown01010: 5/4/2020 6:15:37 AMAfter the lockdowns and social distancing, they will open things back up. The Ramen guy in the tower bazaar wants to get his business going again too. Hangman’s Pass would be a fun area to activate. You can get there during Lake of Shadows strike. There is a fork to the left when you usually make a right in the beginning after killing the snipers.

1 ReplyHm I would upvote for Wolfenbüttel / Germany for looting some Jägermeister Factory Storage. 😂👍

5 RepliesIdk,I think more alien places would be cool, like maybe the pyramid ships as a destination.
-
Yeah, we were promised Old Chicago and never got it. It's a shame.
-
Great idea, with a lot of potential. Bungie has probably dismissed it already.

3 Replies<I think I'd prefer the Manhattan Nuclear Zone over anything else.>
-
Yea I really want to see more of earth and check out more iconic locations
-
I agree! I want to see what’s happening/happened on other parts of the world.

wouldn't mind if the EDZ was deleted entirely. Super boring place, not much to do there. I would like an expansion that lets us explore more of the planets we currently have. Nessus, parts of the old D1 Mars map, even old places like more parts of Venus, really anything else I wouldn't mind. Titan, IO and Mercury are pretty dull and I don't even think new content there would help them

Kokomo

You won’t be getting anything like that from Bungie Play another game.
-
Maybe something more exotic, I’ve been to NY and London and other popular cities too many times in video games. If they picked a location that is less known and made it something even more futuristic and unique, absolutely.

5 RepliesI would like it to be on brazil.or in any south american country at all

Sounds good 👍
