600 RPM ARs are a major issue
*These are broken. The usage of these weapons prove how potent they really are. You rarely see anyone using any other archetype of ARs.
*Try using any other AR in the game is basically pointless. I can manage with 450RPM. I can sometimes manage with 360RPM. I could even get away with the 700 archetype if I am close enough but those 600 RPM have a ridiculous TTK with amazing stability control and ranges that sometimes exceed Pulse Rifles.
*Monte Carlo is one that people dont even utilize and today I met someone who used it and I can say without a shadow of doubt that the problem is with the 600 RPM, HL and any exotic that requies any type of spinning up. The RPMs are extremely strong against anything in the game and the forgiveness is ridiculous.
*Players do not only abuse this crap but when they are losing to someone who isnt using it, they go hide and wait for a teammate to show up. How can you be using the most broken crap in the game and still lack any skill???
*People need to get off the high horse ideals that because you are using the Most Effective Tool Available that it equates to skill.
*This 600 RPM AR buff has been cancerous since the patch and promotes no skill gap widening or skill gap PERIOD. It is a punishment more than anything.

7 RepliesI don't habitually use 600rpm ARs, and my performance hasn't really suffered during this season. I feel like I'm playing the same as I always do throughout any meta. Are there players benefiting from the 600rpm AR buff? Yeah, but that's only going to help them in the short-term until the meta shifts again. There will always be a skill gap between good players and bad players, and it's not decided by what weapons someone uses.

The issue is that you're playing to the AR's strengths, and losing because of it. The low TTK requires sustained headshots to achieve and players shouldn’t be standing still getting sprayed in the face. HardLight is an issue and needs to be addressed. Suros is strong, but it’s not an issue. Summoner is popular, not busted. No other 600RPMs even see play on a major level.

It is a punishment more than anything.[/quote] They need to just need to make hard light a smg with no range,lower its rpm, buff its recoil, and just nerf it in the ground like they did to graviton Lance. No one used autos till now and its ridiculous. I understand its a meta but at what point do they look and see that its truly messed up. Pulse rifles meta sure it was a bit unfair but this is truly ridiculous. I love destiny and all but I'm almost to the point where the game isn't fun. I use handcannon sniper and that is a good combo but all I see is either hard light or jotuun which also needs a nerf to me. I don't mind getting beat but when metas are used and beat every gun that i have that isn't a meta then I've had enough. No player should have to use a meta to be a meta but thats my opinion. I agree with you 100% my dude those disagreeing are the meta runners their opinions don't matter

1 ReplyEdited by Smough: 4/25/2020 8:54:31 PMDon’t know why so many people are disagreeing with you, you’re absolutely correct. 600rpm autos have an optimal 0.7 second ttk, which is one of the faster ttk’s in the game and faster than any other auto archetype. Not only this but since 600rpm autos have really good accuracy, low recoil, high mag size, good body-shot damage, and good range, this optimal ttk is reached almost every single time by anybody who is competent in the game, and can be achievd even at longer ranges especially if using a any range perks or hardlight. And let’s not forget suros that has an optimal ttk of what, 0.4 seconds right now? Hell if you want evidence of how good 600rpm’s really are just look at the numbers of players using them. I know some people claim that usage≠power but that is complete bullshit, players, especially in upper level play, will always gravitate to the strongest weapon available, which in this season is no doubt 600rpm autos. Sometimes there are small exceptions to this, but that’s all they are, small exceptions. It was mida/uriels in year 1, hand cannons in year 2 and some of year 3, and now its 600rpm autos. Funnily enough I rarely if ever saw the “usage≠power” argument before 600rpm autos became meta, most people always agreed that the most used weapons were always the best at the time. It’s almost as if players are in denial of how powerful 600rpm autos really are. Actually that’s exactly what it is, they made fun of hand cannon users for defending hand cannons but now here they are defending their precious 600rpm autos, it’s sad. Though after using one, could you blame them? Something must be done to either increase the optimal ttk of 600rpm autos to something more reasonable for their ease of use, such as 0.75-0.8 seconds (more in line with other autos and weapons in the game). Or make that fast optimal ttk of 0.7 harder to achieve by either increasing the recoil and lowering the overall accuracy of 600rpm autos, or by decreasing bodyshot damage so you need to hit more headshots, or maybe both. I’m okay with auto rifles being meta, however having 600rpm autos being far better than every other auto archetype by being one of the fastest killing and easiest to use weapons in the game is not okay, and they should be addressed by bungie sooner rather than later.

5 Replies*sips coffee* I fail to see how this is a problem. 150 handcannons are the best because thats how things are. Some archetypes will be better. 600 auto rifles are the perfect balance between range, stability, RoF, perk pool and magazine.
