The Guardian Games ornaments should not be in Eververse

Let me start off by saying that I don’t oppose there being event exclusive items in the Eververse. But this trend of locking event armor/ornaments inside the Eververse has got to stop. I remember having so much fun in the Revelry and Dawning events prior to armor 2.0 grinding for those sets, and being so proud to wear them and show them off. But that’s totally gone now. I feel no motivation to buy and wear something I did not earn. And you can say fine, don’t buy it then. But you’d still be ignoring the fact that NOT having these armors to grind in-game for is detrimental to the experience, and player retention. I’m happy to see that the class Ghost shells are earned through actually playing the event and amassing laurels, but once you finish that weekly bounty there’s no more incentive for players who don’t care about class warfare to keep participating. My suggestion: instead of being rewarded blues and purples I’m just going to dismantle, we should have been given a random chance at earning a piece of armor when we turn in medals. Or been rewarded pieces once we reached certain milestones. Then I would have felt more of a drive to keep going. Just wanted to put the idea out there. Please make earning the event armors more meaningful... EDIT: Just to be clear, I’m not arguing the price of these ornament sets (they are fair and doable tbh), I’m arguing them being in the store itself. EDIT: Since it keeps being brought up: yes, I know the sets can be earned with bright dust, and I agree it’s not an unreasonable price to pay. But that’s not the point. I don’t care how easy bright dust is to grind. I still firmly stand by my opinion that event armor should be earned by participating in the event, not by spending bright dust you’ve already accumulated, or doing weeklies you were going to do anyway. Players complain that there is no point to these games and that they want rewards, this is a solution to that complaint. Make the armors part of participation.

  • Yes they should be in eververse, I prefer to buy the new ornaments every season rather than waste 2 weeks of my time grinding boring bounties, it’s been averaging out to $30 to get all 3 sets for all 3 characters every season.

Yep they are back to their old ways, hiding things that should be in the event by putting it all in Eververse, people need to stand up to this sort of crap. And the cost of evervirus items is crap, absolutely obscene.

    • But how will they make the absolute troglodytes waste money on buying them then do a good ol' switcharoo and make the actual item completely worthless?

    • So youre the one person who wouldnt rather just buy something than actually earn it by playing the game. Youre the one who thinks that a weapon skin should cost no more than a buck and that 15 bucks for a skin, for a weapon thats been nerfed and now used by nobody, ever for anything is unreasonable. I supose you think that youd rather have dlc with actual new content like a raid or strikes or pvp maps or game modes, instead of paying 10 bucks on a regular basis to access reskins old pvp maps, zero new strikes or raids and have all the cool osiris weapon skins be in eververse while grinding out endless bounties and a forge reskin public event. People like you make me sick, dont you know that bungie only made 300 million dollars last year! Dont you know that making content is really hard and just too much effort. If tou feel like this why dont you just go play another game that respects its playerbase and actually puts a shit and a -blam!- into its content. If youre not prepared to pay for crap then just go already.

        • Eververse brightdust was for buying stuff you missed previous seasons, now they destroyed the dust economy and put all new ornaments in it.

        • I mean, Bungie needs to make some money from this ga- -monkey screeching intensifies- As I was saying, from this game. It doesn't matter what they earn otherwise, nobody's gonna give away a project like Destiny for free. But a whole eververse category with daily changing offers for an event that is supposed to reward the guardians, according to Zavala? A bit too greedy.

          1. You can earn 3.6k bright dust per week (1.2k per character) 2.Bright Engrams exist 3. You can Google when certain items will rotate for bright dust 4. Everything from a given (and current) season ends up rotating for bright dust. Especially the seasonal armor. 5. If you buy silver (which I have no friends that’s do) then you are “not smart” for use of a better word. Silver is literally there for children that want to spend their parents money and get stuff when they see it. Silver is literally a direct correlation to time and money. Silver= Get now+Spend your money Bright Dust= Get later+ Save your money Not to mention everything in the Eververse Store is cosmetic anyway. Like that fcking matters.

          • I think they should just put the seasonal Eververse armour back in Bright Engrams but still allow people to purchase them with Silver or Bright Dust. For example back in Year 1 of Destiny 2 I remember getting so excited that I finally got the Robes of Optimacy from a bright engram. Personally I would be very pleased if they made this change.

              • Microtransactions are the new business model for a lot of games. I don't like it either. It makes a lot of money for developers so you can bet it will continue. Blame mobile gaming and the people that will spend their money on microtransactions.

                • This is just another way that bungie can double dip, they put 70% of the dlc items in eververse then they have an event that comes with a full store refresh, an that's there dlc model these days even thou the whole idea for eververse was to fund the creating of content like whisper an outbreak missions but we have yet to see a single bit of content come in that sense since the outbreak mission which is over a year old now.

                  • I totally agree. It is fair for proper business practices to earn income from digital purchases. And frankly, as a business, I would be in agreement that exclusive items should ONLY be obtained from Silver, but when it is only ONE set of Armor, per class, I do solely believe that it can be offered by the Eververse Store OR have a long questline, I wouldn't care if it is time-gated through the whole event itself, that awards the armor ornaments throughout the event. It would give us an incentive to play through the entire event. That brings up another point, I am in agreement that Triumphs/time-gated Triumphs help with the incentive to play, but it is one step forward to perfecting it. Bungie needs to do a better job at mixing both of these two elements together.

                  • There is absolutely no reason anything should be locked exclusively to eververse. Literally every single item should be obtainable as a drop from playing the game as well as being in the store for the morons that feel need to flex by having that stuff early “But but we dont want any useless drops in the game” Fair point, so why you wasting real money buying that crap? Put the items as exclusive drops in strikes, nightfalls, even comp and gambit Have them as extra rewards on top of the usual crap you get and delete Weapon and armour ornaments could come from the activity the weapon or armour come from Whisper ornaments? Random drop from heroic whisper Want all whisper ornaments? Keep running whisper heroic until they all drop You’re a basement dweller that thinks having that stuff before anybody else is cool? Awesome! Then go buy that crap at the store while the rest of the players go earn it Literally everybody wins
