I'm trying to quit Destiny for a while due to stress (the game causing it) Anyone else?

Since D2 launch Destiny has been my go-to pasttime. I think I have around 2000 hours and I have LOVED it, despite the flaws. This is not a whine post, just wondering if others feel the same. But the successive seasons of FOMO have literally started giving me stress, like work-related stress. I loved in vanilla like I could pick up and play whenever I wanted, knowing that I wasn't "missing" anything, but D2 would be waiting for me whenever I wanted to go back, and there was time to experience everything the game had to offer. The last few seasons have changed all that. I've two young kids, so only get to play around 12 hours a week. So when I play I'm doing pvp (which I like the most, but has its own frustrations) or desperately grinding bounties, worried about my XP and the season pass, and missing perfect rolls on weapons. I've not done the raids, not PvP'd as much as I want, as all I do is the various bounties and stupid -blam!-ing bunker clear outs, and then it's time for me to go to bed. I stress about all the content I'm missing, and how so many rewards are going away, and feel I should be playing when I'm not. I don't play other games I want to. It feels really stressful and like a job, and I already have one of those. I for sure will be back as I love Destiny so much, but at the moment I'm starting to hate what I love. I heard that Bungie is planning to change the FOMO vibe, and that would be great. I realise we're (mostly) all adults, and I should get a grip, and I'm actually not whining, I'm just saying the current state of the game is not fitting in with how I like to game. Anyone else feel the same? Thanks :)

  • Give this game a break if you aren’t enjoying it I dabble between borderlands 3 the division 2 and final Fantasy 7 remake when Destiny 2 becomes boring and then I go back when I’m refreshed.

    • I gave up Destiny cause I don’t like nor support being psychologically manipulated with FOMO with all the time Gates they implement. I should be able to get the Battle Pass Cosmetics from every Season anytime I want long after the Season has expired, same with the Title, so it’s become stressful for that reason. With Borderlands 3 which I’ve been playing a lot of lately, been the best choice I ever made trading Destiny for BL3, Division etc.

      • The seasonal system is horrible. Wish they go back to old dlc system. When you needed a break, you could take one. Come back and catch up. Now if you take one, you miss shit. Try to keep it fun man.
