There was one person I saw who was a streamer who was restored and an apology was given on the forum by BNGSecurity. That was months ago.

1 ReplyNone Ive heard of before. There were like a 7 total bans lifted in the span of Destiny 2 beta to today. Bungies mistakes. But most people who say "they did nothing wrong" did something wrong

22 RepliesThe process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The person at Bungie HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not. Intentionally or not your account broke the rules. Ignorance doesn't exempt you from them. Your account is done. If you pray hard enough maybe just maybe the person that runs the BNGSecurity account will care enough to give you an extremely vague reason as to why a punishment was issued. The chances of that happening are slim to none. Here's some examples of the other 380+ people who "did nothing wrong" that the BNGSecurity account replied to. https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/BungieActivity/254/21102603/BNGSecurity [EDIT] Recently they have added a form to appeal a BAN or RESTRICTION. (SUSPENSIONS are not included.) https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 But know that the chances of it actually getting reversed are MINISCULE. As quoted by the BNGSECURITY account.
The banning system has not changed. We ARE deploying some new detection tech. But the appeal form is mostly about allowing us to cut off new cheats early while still giving the community confidence that our systems are reliable. The likelihood of an unban is low. "My brother did it, not me" is still not a valid appeal. The case where an appeal would result in an unban would be something like "This is an in-game exploit, here's the specific steps to reproduce it".
For most PC tagalongs: They are banned because SOMETHING installed on your PC (ACTIVE cheats for D2 or other games can trigger this) was viewed as a POTENTIAL threat to D2 and those are PROMPTLY BANNED.
