Im not on xbox but i can tell you overheating is not a game problem.
Its a issue with the console overheating, you better clean the inside because letting your cbox overheat constantly will eventually kill it.
As well make sure the vents (cant remember the exact name) arent covered so the fan is letting air flow
Im not on xbox but i can tell you overheating is not a game problem.
I believe you're wrong in this case. My xbox has been powered on literally for thousands of hours. It has never, ever, not once, ever powered itself off due to overheating. Then it happened 3 times, each during the exact same place in the exact same game. Not to mention: the xbox is not in a cabinet, it is sitting out in the open, there is no dust whatsoever on the air intake holes, there is nothing blocking the exhaust air, and the xbox itself does not feel hot to the touch. Thanks...

As well there may be no dust in the exhaust holes but dust can be on the inside of the console and can block the fan (not entirely but enough to lower the amount of air flow). I have a Xbox and i can tell you right now im pretty sure you dont feel it hot because of its thickness (im pretty sure the cpu is in the middle of the thing)

And I will tell you right now none of that matters, overheating is a CONSOLE issue a game can not cause this, Anthem was the only game known to kill consoles due to how much it was demanding (it was due to the game trying to demand way too much). You can have no issues for thousands of hours but that does not matter, consoles age just like any other electronic, you are better off stopping and inspecting the Xbox to not cause any permanent damage. You can inspect the fourms for hours and see you are the only one experiencing this. Do not blame the game, overheating is a console issue not a game one
-
My, aren't you confident.
You can inspect the fourms for hours and see you are the only one experiencing this. Do not blame the game, overheating is a console issue not a game one
Ok. I did inspect "the forums" for a couple of minutes, and found that I was not only one experiencing this. 🙂

Lying isnt a way to prove your point
-
ok I don't appreciate that. I didn't lie about anything, I don't deserve to be called a liar. 😐
-
You do, because i looked in each section for about 2 minutes (scrolling doesn’t take long) each, and found no one having the same problem, so clearly lied, if you want to prove you arent link the post you found
-
I couldn’t find any
-
And yet, if nobody else is reporting the same problem, guess what that means...
-
well, you did say "if"... how about this, if other people are reporting the same problem, then what does that mean? https://www.google.com/search?q=xbox+overheat+calus My original question is "what do I do about this?" Cleaning vents won't solve the problem. I'm not sure what else to do, except, I guess, don't go into the shadow realm.

Look man, I tried helping you, if you choose to be ignorant then let your console get permanent damage, the new weird looking xbox is coming out soon anyways. Just dont go blaming bungie when your xbox wont start cause the cpu is dead
-
Thank you 🙂

Edited by Crisidelm: 4/13/2020 5:09:34 PMThe problem is the Xbox overheating; be it due to some faults in the assembling of the console itself, the console getting a bit long in the tooth or other reasons, I don't know
-
I know it is, its just the other guy here will just say “See other are having the same problem”, he keeps implying what im telling him is false. Im trying to tell him its his Xboxs’ problem but he keeps ignoring it blaming it on destiny
-
Just adding my two cents in here. I’m literally having the exact same issue. A very specific point of the Calus Prestige encounter powers down my Xbox claiming it “overheated”. This has happened over several nights and I’m not confident it’s a game issue. The most recent test I ran I left my console off for 48 hours, powered it on and went straight into the encounter. As soon as I was teleported back into the dark realm (the second time) my console powers down. Not sure this helps but I wanted to confirm this is happening to more than a single person.

Consoles are more active when they are running games even more so when stuff is actually going on inside it. Consoles are similar to computers to how they work inside so more stuff going on = more heat Your console is just having a issue with the encounter and whats in it
