In the Taken King, we got lore about the formless one. An entity within the deep. The worm gods state that they only move through the deep and it seems this formless one is kind of an overseer. We know the worm gods worship the darkness and the deep so that obviously already ties a connection.
To add, the conversation between Oryx and the formless one seems very similar to the way the darkness spoke to us. That tone of their cynical nonchalant language.
Thus i propose the theory that the the formless one is the god of the darkness and that Anon’s leaks of the darkness wanting to revive their dead god, will pull the formless one from the deep and unleash its wrath upon the universe.
Also this is kinda crazy but, what if the statue in the pyramid, garden and concept art is the formless one. If so we know it as a female then, what if bungie use that dynamic of two sisters, the light and dark. This part is way more far fetched but everything else is pretty logical.

We will find out when they finish writing it. They have no plan for the story and never have. Look at D1's story.. made no sense. They are writing it as they go.

1 ReplyCould be wrong, but I think the formless one and the Winnower are one and the same

47 RepliesThe Formless One is the Winnower, who is the woman depicted in the statues you speak of. And it technically is a story of two sisters. The Gardener and the Winnower. Have you not read Unveiling?

3 RepliesI still don’t like the proposed leak. It would be like The Dark Below without Crota’s End if you catch my drift. The Pyramids do refer to themselves in the plural unlike both examples of the Darkness talking we have, but I’m of the mindset that the Darkness and the Pyramids are more linked than we think. The Gardner and the Winnower are both equals and opposites. The Traveler is one while the Pyramids are many. A sphere is the most complex object while a tetrahedron is the simplest. Duality. The second clash approaches. We know the Darkness can be beaten, as it was trapped and subdued at the proto-Hive portion of the Books of Sorrow. We simply don’t know how or why. Though that could be just how the Darkness originally manifested itself in the universe, but The Leviathan makes me believe otherwise.

Yeah, basically, but often those leaks seem to good to be true. Even if Anon’s is accurate, the new one that sweatcicle tweeted is unrealistic, obvious conclusions gathered from years of lore and a fall 2020 release, come on.

A little too convoluted for me boss

Shadowofanon’s leak was false, the fact that we still talk to a very much alive Formless One in Shadowkeep proves this

6 Replies<I don't believe the Winnower is dead. However, if the Winnower was critically weakened in its fight with the Gardener, then the Anon leak could end up being partially true, with the Pyramids wanting to sap a little bit of energy, enough to give their God the upper hand and finally end this universe-old war. Maybe that's why they're acting so... erratically. I don't think the statue is of the Darkness itself, but more a representative of the Pyramid's inhabitants and their... ideology? No... what was the word I was looking for? From the concept art the statue was from, you can see two statues above the veiled ones, they are of someone in a headdress. I think that's their leader, as well as the direct link between Winnower and Armada.>
