A Destiny Memorial - Share Your Fondest Destiny Memories

Throughout Destiny's life, different moments have been hailed as "The Death" of the game, but bungie always seemed to find a way to correct it's mistakes, and put the game back on a fun but playable path. Now, with the quitting of Glad, it seems that the game is going through another moment of Mortal Peril. But to this time, given the culmination of other issues, it kinda does feel like "the end." Even my brother, who was a die hard destiny fan through all it's darkest periods has since moved on after the forced "you had to be there" gimmick of time gated seasons was implemented. As the pillar of our clan, a consistently active community for many years, since his parting with the game that community has also gone silent. I'm not here to belittle bungie. Or to suppose that some streamer quitting means the end. The forum is crammed with many such posts. Im here to say goodbye for my part. At a real Memorial, one doesn't look back on the indignities a person suffered at the end of their life. They are celebrated, praised, and mourned. I'm here to mourn today. To say good bye to a great and innovative game that provided me with countless hours of fun and community through the dark times I faced irl. From the beginning where I first started playing during House of Wolves, my first VoG completion (still my favorite raid), to Kings Fall, faction rally, and Last Wish, destiny took my breath away. It drew me in, made me grind, and gave me some awesome loot all as I revelled in the visual beauty of the worlds bungie created. I have always loved destiny, I still love destiny, and I will never forget what it has given me. Thank you destiny, and farewell. What moments of destiny do you remember with the most fondness? Please share.

Running and beating Wrath of the Machines for the first time with randos from LFG was the most fun I ever had in Destiny. That was awesome, and that was a fun and friendly team. And yeah, this time it's legit over. Before, they had Activision, Vicarious Visions, High Moon Studios, and it was directed by Scott Taylor. Now, all of that is gone, their focus is on Matter - not Destiny - and they're led by Luke Smith. It's impossible to bounce back with this last remaining group. If they could do better, they would have. This is the best they can do, and unfortunately it's not good.

    • After a year of searching with no luck, I had lost hope on the hawkmoon. Then one fateful day on an averge PoE run. BANG! Hawkmoon in the treasure chest. I ran around up and down my street twice after that.

      • Top 3: 1. WotM easy, we all die, warlock self rezes, we all get up, we kill aksis. 2. Cliché but my first ghorn drop from deathsinger. 3. Omnigul nightfall, i'm glitched in a wall in the boss room with armor piercing rounds. My friend is soloing the strike, rejoining when he dies cuz he can't get revived. "We" get to the end and the boss is weak. My friend needs to rejoin. Whike he's gone I kill a cursed thrall setting of a chain reaction of thrall explosions that kills omnigul. I'm laughing as my friend gets off for the night.
