(BEFORE YOU READ, I'm not whining, I just want to share my thoughts.)
Hello there.
I'm just here to share my thoughts with you.
I want to clarify that, I'm not whining, I just want to see if people agree with me or don't agree with me.
So, basically, I'm a warlock main, I've done some crucible matches with my titan, and maybe I will do more, and, I think, titans are in general weak. Though titan exotics and the striker subclass are good.
How are titans weak?
Well, let's take a look at the sentinel subclass.
The grenades are fine in my opinion. Other classes have sticky grenades, and the sentinel has the suppresion one, which isn't overpowered. It can cut super, but it's not that easy.
Top tree:
You have to kill someone with your melee. What's wrong with that?
People won't let you be near them so easily unless they have a shotgun.
And if you kill someone with the melee, the shield isn't that great, and the duration is just decent.
If allies are nearby, they will get the effect. But, most of the time your allies won't be that close to you.
So basically, top tree sentinel is based around melee, if enemies have a shotgun, you will die. And if you try to get closer to punch them, I'm sure they will just shoot, and to finish you, they will melee you.
Middle tree sentinel:
The super is good.
But the detonator "synergy" isn't honestly that good.
If you melee someone, it creates an explosion and the enemies can "explode".
But in Crucible, you have to shoot a lot to the enemy, and they will "explode" the moment they are dead, so it doesn't change your time to kill in any way. And the energy it gives you isn't that good.
Bottom tree:
The shoulder charge can be used to get to cover faster and of course, to kill.
The additional shield is good.
But the "in the trenches" and the other ability aren't good.
You have to be really close to the enemies, and get a kill, the opponents will just shoot at you, or they will melee you. You might get 1 kill, but honestly, it's not worth it getting kill for a little of super energy.
Superior Arsenal, needs a buff.
You can get kills with the sticky nade even if it's hard, but the amount of nade energy you get isn't that much.
Now I will talk about Sunbreaker.
The grenades are also fine. The termite one is the voidwall but perpendicular.
Top tree:
The worst for crucible.
Shoulder charge is good. But the other abilities...
One of them grants you speed and reload speed if you kill someone with one of your abilities and can stack up to three times. That isn't really good.
And the other two add area of effect damage. Basically they are based on the super, and grant no real benefit. The other tree creates sunspots where your hammers land, and they last longer than the area of effect damage granted by the other tree.
Middle tree:
The super is ok.
The hammer you can throw I think is also fine.
The health regeneration you get if you pick up the hammer is meh, people usually try to have a really high recovery, so by the time you're running to pick up the hammer the health regeneration might start earlier or just a few moments later. (Unless you threw it at a close range).
The ability damage boost for killing with them is ok, but not really great.
Bottom tree:
This one is fine in my opinion.
The burn damage from your melee can kill the opponent if the melee wasn't enough, and you can burn the opponents nearby.
Sunspots are fine, enemies will get damaged if they dare to stand in there, and your abilites will recharge faster by standing on them. And they also make your super last longer and you can throw your hammers faster.
And finally, the striker.
The grenade that can blind you is fine. Warlocks have the pulse one, and the other one if similar to the the spike grenade.
Top tree:
Really good.
It has shoulder charge, you get an additional grenade, and kills with shoulder charge recharge your grenade. The super ability is...meh, in crucible it can "crowd control" a certain place for some time.
Middle tree:
It's also really good.
The super is nice.
The melee recharges your super and activates inertia override. And inertia override increases your weapon damage and reloads it, which is good.
Bottom tree:
Frontal attack is meh.
Melee kills activating health regeneration is only good if you're playing a "playstyle" and you can be close to an enemy and you need to melee them. (Shotgun and it didn't kill.)
Out of combat, again, if you're using a shotgun this can be good. Or if you are against somebody using a shotgun, you can headshot them or break their shields, and if you're at a distance where they can't melee you and you can, it can be good (though these situations don't seem to happen a lot).
And super kills giving you super energy is also good.
So, in my most honest opinion, I think Striker seems to be the only option for PvP, and titans can only be good if they use an exotic, and in my opinion, an exotic should compliment you, it shouldn't be the base of your playstyle.
I think titans need a buff, and if some exotics are overpowered, they can be either nerfed (but please not to the grave), or other exotics could be buffed.
That's how I see this, I don't know if I'm just thick, if this is silly, but this is what I think.
Thank you for reading.

I main a Titan for PvP. I like the tall wall and suppression nades.

4 RepliesCan you pick a single subclass path you would like to talk about?😅. You typed A LOT and I dont know where to start or what to say lolz

As a Warlock main I almost always stick with bottom tree Sunbreaker. Those sunspots are nasty!

Thundercrash’s melee ability is very very strong. The super is strong. Antaeus wards are very strong. Dunemarchers are very strong. Synthoceps are still strong. Titans are the only class with suppressor nades. And all three subclasses have shoulder charge. I’m not saying theyre broken, but theyre far from bad

1 ReplyEdited by michael: 4/11/2020 1:14:54 AMI think titans have quite a bit of use in crucible. I play all 3 classes and have no problem using them, between the multiple choices of exotics and the multiple useful subclasses. Top defender, bottom sunbreaker, middle striker and bottom striker are my favourites to use. Top defender has the melee that regens your health on every kill and gives you an overshield if your melee is charged. The super is solid, iffy melee registration if you dont manage to kill people before they start running away but the throwing shield is pretty consistently very strong and kills people without you even seeing them. Bubble isn’t great but has its uses and can be fun if you use it to bodyshot with a sniper or hold down zones or use it in an enemy spawn or something. Their grenades are solid with stickies almost one shotting and suppressers being very useful if you get a hang out them. Tarrabah is also kind of fun to mess around with while using them. Bottom sunbreaker has a pretty consistent super and the sunspots created from ability kills can be very good if you play around them a lot, and if you use them with phoenix cradle (yes, phoenix cradle) they become extra strong with the damage boost lasting 10 seconds instead of 5. All the grenades are solid choices but my personal favourite is thermite because it’s good for zoning people off. Middle striker is my favourite to use. Inertia override is a very very strong ability that you can have active very often with the amount of special ammo always lying around. The damage boost is very nice especially if you use it with something like thorn because the inertia override damage boost doesnt stack with the soul devourer bullet damage which stays at 81 but it does stack with soul devourer’s effect on the burn damage and you do like 7 per tick, you can almost kill in two bodyshots with soul devourer and inertia override both active. Thats just one weapon it is especially good with, but of course doing like 30% more damage with everything is very nice. Lets you bodyshot with 72 rpm snipers which can be funny. The super isn’t the best but it has its use if you use it to shutdown a super or fly out of being surrounded when on a streak. Edit: I forgot death from above which is super fun to play around with especially with dunemarchers being buffed Bottom striker is probably the best all around. Frontal assault gives you 0 recoil and the same damage boost as inertia override and lasts a whole 15 seconds. Knockout is honestly one of the stronger and most underrated perks in the game, 160 damage melee with extra range that regens your health on kill. If you’re getting kills or even just doing damage to people you will almost always have it active. Between frontal assault and knockout it is a very strong close range, in the action subclass and therefor has good synergy with shots. The super isn’t what it once was but it is still very good and can get you a bunch of kills if you use it at the right times. In terms of exotics, obviously dunemarchers and antaeus wards are the meta but Ive had success with some others. Like I already said, phoenix cradle is super good on sunbreaker. Insurmountable skullfort is very good on bottom striker, just makes it even more of a strong melee subclass when you have frontal assault up pretty much 24/7. Lion rampants are good for vertical use, makes your titan pretty much a budget top Dawnblade. Peacekeepers are super underrated as they make any smg a monster, specifically Antiope becomes absolutely insane with the lightning fast handling and the increased move speed and slide distance while holding it on top of the gun already being really good. I feel like titans (warlocks too) in general are classes that aren’t strong unless you take the time to find their strengths and how you can incorporate them into your playstyle. They are harder to learn at first than hunters but once you learn them theres a bunch you can do in the way of strong builds. Hunters are easy to learn but once you get past the initial learning curve they don’t get much better, their strength is their eccentric movement which is fairly straightforward and they don’t have as much room for experimentation in my opinion.
