Hello there. This is an remake/updated version of my many former posts about the release date of Destiny 3 and I apologize for grammar ahead of time.
I put the release date in the title but repeating myself, I claim once again that it's going to release middle of September or little later in 2022 or rather that It's set to release to that date if things go as planned. For the hell of it here is a likely road map of things to come. Explanation comes after. Sources at end
- Season of the Undying & Shadowkeep DLC
- Season of Dawn
- Season of Worthy (Current)
- Comet DLC & Season of [Redacted] September, 2020
- Season of [Redacted] 2020-2021 ( Likely Dreaming city based, Lifting the curse.)
- Season of [Redacted] 2021
(Just more seasons)
- Comet DLC & Season of [Redacted] September, 2021
- Here I don't know how it ends. Might be just one season of triump around march 2022 but honestly I think it's a season or seasons of preparing against the darkness or against the collaps.
- Destiny 3 September, 2022
Time to explain the why, in why September 2022. I'll just start with a big inhale, exhale because...man It's alot of stuff I have to slim down.
Let's start with the end of destiny 2. Yea that is something Bungie actually have been pretty open about ( Bungie ViDoc – The Moon and Beyond) . That is the 5 year plan. Not 5 more years of Destiny 2 no no, year 5 as in since 2017 September to 2022 September is the current announced roadmap of Destiny 2 that we just kinda got from Bungie. It's a silly misunderstanding that we will get 5 more years of Destiny 2. It's not that they can't add more years to this roadmap but one would miss the hole point if not to understand that this is the planned deadline of Destiny 2. Get it? It's the end? Deadline?
Second thing. September 2022 is a special year. It's as a matter of fact the earliest year Destiny 3 can come out as an next-gen only title. What am I talking about? Well....Phil Spencer (Head of Xbox) said in an interview that all games on the xbox platform will run on all xbox one series for one year. After that it will be next gen only. Meaning because Sony is less harsher with what hardware games run on, this will quite litrally be where the bottleneck for games will change as they don't need to run on Xbox one any longer. 2020 holiday is the release date of the consoles and then add a year, you get Q4 2021. As you all know Bungie allways plans to release's its big content in September. That makes 2022 September the earliest possible time to release Destiny 3 if it's to be next-gen only. This is..... entangled with the announced 5 year plan exactly.....huh...almost like I have a point (Smug face.)
Second thing 2.0 I also feel the necessity to also say that the Destiny we or I allways wanted, is not possible on current console hardware as bottleneck. Okey GPU, Old HDD technology , CPU's made for laptops. I'm honestly suprised that Destiny 2 is not supported on Mac at this point.
Third thing. Destiny 3 has been in development since Forsaken according to the legendary AnonTheNine (Not ShadowOfAnonTheNine). We know this to be more then likely true because at that time Bungie had a partnership with Activision and the leaked contract between the two companies says that there was ment to be a Destiny 3 and even Destiny 4 at some point. They had to honor the contract obviously at that time so there was no choice in the matter untile the split. Now Destiny 1 & 2 had around 3 years of development(Hell). Forsaken was launched 2018 september and my claim of September 2022 gives 4 years of development. That's one additional year to what they previously had. Something that makes sense they would do after openly complain about game development crunch time yet still close to the traditional time it takes to make the game.
Fourth thing. The interviews jesus christ the interviews. I've not yet to acknowledge the opinion of Destiny 3 not happening at all and...well.......it was a few years ago something worth to discuss but now it is just an FYI updated for those with that opinion. Simply because Bungie just drops bombs at interviews. Keeping it light, one particular interview stands out. Q the qoutes
Bungie isn’t done just yet with its plan for Destiny 2 updates, but it seems the developer is already thinking about Destiny 3 – it’s just not ready to share any details quite yet. In an interview with PCGamesN, the studio’s comms director, David ‘DeeJ’ Dague, says we’ll “have to wait a little longer” before we hear anything about a potential sequel.
“I understand the question you’re asking and it’s certainly an interesting one, and we’ll have a lot of cool stuff to say on that later, but I’m afraid that moment will have to wait a little bit longer.”
Conclusion. There is so much more I want to talk about. Like the collaps and how the lore is telling us about the darkness, our guardian's death, picking a side. How Bungie feels, the way they talk. How massive the game files are. But I've made my points. Destiny 3 will happen and the information available is pure luxury. September 2022. There it is. I'll guess what's left to say is that I will never forgive Bungie if I can't give Mara Sov a Dawning cookie for killing her brother. That is true next-gen experience right there.
