Hey... Ya i know.. It was OK last season. Holy crap, I dare say it was almost usable (still a meme compared to shoulder charge and HH Supernova, but hey, hunters had something at least). I didn't think it was OP, but I was able to make some fun videos with it, and reviewing the footage, some of the shots were a little crazy. But it was also attached to a garbage neutral game subclass with the WORST super in the game for PVP (next to maybe chaos reach maybe?).
Now it's useless. Just a complete waste of an ability. Even in PVE, it's just so inconsistent and slow, it's almost not even worth using.
Could we get a little re-balancing on the Weighted Throwing Knife? I don't want it to track from someone's foot to head, but I feel like the hitbox should at least be in the same range as a Spare Rations or something. Maybe make it so the headshots are still harder to hit, but have it track to the body better. I mean, warlocks just press a button and get a free 100+ damage from celestial fire and titans hold W and press a melee button for a free kill. I know it's not THAT simple, but c'mon, ya it kinda is.
It's so bad right now it's basically a meme. And before you hunter haters have a seizure in your computer chairs, settle down. I main warlock too.

6 RepliesAim assist was too high last season I think, very easy to hit heads with. And no way is GG the worst pvp super.

Before the nerf it was okay in pve but took so long to throw it often missed or the enemy was already killed by the time it was thrown. I used it a little in pvp but never found it to be op or even as easy to use as shoulder charge or hand held super nova. I honestly just wish that they’d make it so you could cancel it while still in animation. Would make it wasted less often and in pve hell to make up for the fact that without aggressive auto aim it misses constantly so you have to be even more careful with your throws.

A small increase in magnetism could be fine. Though it is more of a get out of jail free card in my experience. If you get stuck in a position where you are low health, and 1 second to wind up the knife, it can get you out of those situations.

Git gud Use Arcstrider like a chad

15 RepliesGolden gun was the best pvp super pre-forsaken... and in no way is it the worst pvp super. That title goes to a tie between well of radiance, chaos reach, nova warp, or dawnblade, all mostly unusable in pvp. Handheld has been nerfed to the point of literally killing you when you use it, and celestial fire isn’t “free damage”, you have to give up your super to have it.

1 ReplyIt's the longest range OHKO ability so it's the hardest to land. It's balanced.

I kinda wish it was quicker to get off. Feels kinda clunky with the animation. Otherwise I am fine with it. Could maybe use a tweak on the AA/ease of use. But Bungie gonna be Bungie and overcorrect things. It went from a magnet to pretty inconsistent. The meta game is too fast to make consistent use of it with the animation wind up and the overtuned AA nerf.

I agree with you. I made my own post about this but it didn't gain any traction. The main issue with the knife last season was it had absolutely insane distance. I frequently challenged snipers across the map with ease to the amaze of teammates who couldn't believe what just happened. If you put it on a scale, the knife had pretty much 100 aim assist last season. I watched it boomerang in the air to track a floating warlock. Now it basically has 0. It should be tweaked back to have between 40-50 so that it can challenge at mid to short ranges to prevent people from rushing you, but it shouldn't be able to dome a sniper. They overdid the nerf on it, and now there is basically no reason to use bottom tree outside PVE with celestial.

I thinks it’s useful, but just on targets that are standing still.I think the projectile speed should be buffed to make it easier to aim.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 3/30/2020 10:39:52 PMAim a little left and high. Like you are aiming for their right temple, as it has very little aim assist now and they tend to go a little left because your throw with your right. Throwing for the Neck or dead center of the head some times has the aim assist pull the knife to the body. While in some situation it does indeed seems a little over kill. I am not sure it needs a buff. I have also noticed that after Y range any assistance the ability has left is entirely removed. If any thing they could fix the issue where the aim assist pulls the knife to the body when you aim for the head. As this drives me nutz and I know it should have been a kill in some situations. If the weight knife is encoded to have magnetism values to bodys and criticals it would explain the problem of knifes being drawn to the body when aimed at the head.

Last season it was a magnet, but I agree that it was over nerfed. I y’all didn’t deserve that

6 RepliesLast season it was insane. It needed a nerf
