Hunters
Do you think hunters are a lower class than the rest. My friend complains about hunter dodges not being good enough,hunter invisible ability is trash , and that bungie doesn’t care for hunters. Can you shed some light on this because I personally think that hunter are pretty strong and that my friend is overreacting.

1 ReplyAll the classes are in a good place right now, maybe not all sub classes (looking at you chaos reach and 3 shot golden gun) but as long as you're already a decent player there's something for everyone that can easily compete against anything else

Just go to guardian.gg and look at which subclass is the most popular. Then play any PvP type and look at what the dominant class is by percentage of each match.

8 RepliesHunters have two things: - Their dodge - Their jump These are the only things that make hunters good. Their throwing knife is much worse than shoulder charge and handheld supernova, their only good supers are spectral blades and blade barrage which are no better than a smash titan or dawnblade warlock, and their melee has the least range except for one tree in the arcstrider tree. If hunters were a pokemon, they'd have extremely high speed and evasion, but very low attack power. They're not op but they're very annoying to engage with cause they're always moving around and dodging behind walls, making them hard to hit.

He is completely. Hunter is imo the most competitive class to run in pvp and has MANY spectacular combos to run in pve

Its the most used and catered to class. The entire class is designed with Pvp in mind. Dodge is also the best class ability! Also granting hidden perks to it. Hunter's have the most viable supers and the best neutral game.

Hunters are by far the most annoying to play against. The dodge spamming, which works like a get out of jail free card, is the worst of their tactics. Every Hunter will just jump around like an idiot the second someone engages them while spamming hand cannon or shotgun shots. Then there’s the invisibility with a shotgun...Frickin’ Hunter bull crap. I hate Hunters. There’s nothing worse than spawning into a Rumble match with 4 or 5 Hunters in the lobby. It’s just dodge, roll, hippity-hoppity, invisible hacks from all sides.

1 ReplyIts so bad It’s only the most overused ability in the game on the most used class in the game. It’s a get out of jail free card. A do over. Never having to commit to any engagement and it’s tied to your mobility of all things. Oh and more often then not you get a seasonal mod that gives you a Overshield while dodging. Your friend is obviously a potato and doesn’t realize it’s full potential. Tell him to watch some actual hunter gameplay. It’s abused all the time. What a joke.....

But the ones in super suits wearing stompies will dodge erentil bolts mid fire and triple tap you. Its kind of like a Astrocyte Verse lock with Chappy. You know he just out played you with the blink dome. Just rare to see the skill barrier broken.

Hunters are broken and there is a reason they are the more used class. They have a learning curve to the class in pvp but when you learn it they are really good in pvp.

They are, ok. A lot of the things that make them good, require weird builds. I would say outta the 3, they have the highest skill ceiling. Because golden gun is one of the best supers in pvp if you can land the shots. Throwing knife, CAN be one of the best melee abilities, again, if you can land your shots. Their grenades are really stong, but again, you need to be good with your grenades. Their dodge can be clutch, but it requires map awareness so you dont dodge into a wall and die. In PvE, they also have a higher skill ceiling and require specific exotics. Night hawk is basically a must, you can get more DPS then other classes with the same weapons because of your dodge that lets you reload. If you want memes, sweet business + 100 mobility. you only stop firing for the length of the dodge animation. Rocket and or GL launchers fully loaded on a dodge, very useful, it makes using weapons like whisper much more forgiving. Why everyone thinks hunters are the weakest class is because they dont realize that the majority of their abilities are self beneficial not fire team beneficial, or if they are, you are basically specing to do that. Like if you wanna change your friends opinion that hunters are the weakest class, run the support hunter build. 100 mobility, 6th tail cyote, and top tree void stalker, you basically become the team medic in high end content. Oh no you got killed, let me just stealth revive you and run away, let me tether everything for you. tl;dr, hunters are not weak, they just need to be tailored to do something, unlike the other 2 classes which out of the box have utility and more use.

3 RepliesEvery casual Hunter main believes that Hunters suck. Like three of my friends are Hunter mains and they consistently complain about how bad they are. Make no mistake though, Hunters are easily the most powerful PvP class in the game. The difference is made through their impressive neutral game. Dodge has a bunch of hidden effects on top of being either an auto-reload or a melee reset/hitbox reduction. They have much faster vertical momentum and minimal accuracy penalty when airborne. All things considered, they really are tailored for PvP. That about summarizes it. By no means do I believe they're overtuned; Warlocks and Titans have their fair share of gimmicks on top of being tuned more towards the less skilled of us, myself included. But they certainly are the best PvP class, and they don't fall behind at all in PvE.

8 RepliesDodge is useless. I’ve been killed in one shot while dodging and killed many hunters with one shot while they are dodging. Golden gun has almost no health, arc strider can’t do a lot of damage to enemies in super, spectral is good if you are in a tight space, but in the open, it’s useless. Blade barrage is good, but the fan of knives is useless in pvp. We have ONE ohk, but it takes way too long to charge up, and easy to dodge. Invis is pretty pointless. You can still see people. Jump is alright, but titan jump is more fun to use, and I wish we had blink back. If arc strider replaced dodge with a blink that had the choice between gamblers blink, where blinking near an opponent reloaded your melee and marksmanship blink, where blinking reloads your weapon. You would be able to use it mid air, unlike dodge.

Hunters are the most popular class in high level PvP. Maybe he can watch strategy videos on how to improve as a hunter?
