If they were uncounterable at their intended, long range, that would be one thing but when people are consistently hitting head shots from 20 meters out while taking a stream of bullets from any primary in the game, and even heavy machine gun bullets to some extent, to the face it's hard to say that things haven't gotten out of hand.
To be clear I'm not asking for a nerf to snipers. I'm asking for a buff to maybe a perk like high cal rounds or a specific weapon type (like maybe scout rifles since they've been irrelevant since Mida was nerfed in year 1) or adding a new perk in that would serve this purpose. But I would just love something to where if I'm sliding a corner at the intended range for my weapon and beaning a sniper in the head I can have confidence that that they won't be landing their head shot.

I'm pretty sure flinch while wielding a sniper is proportionally less than primaries. However in the p2p system increased flinch doesn't matter because 2 players could shoot at the same time and flinch might not register until one player is already dead. Bungie's needs dedicated servers and then we'd have to see if snipers would still be a problem.

I agree they shouldn’t be able to nail a headshot while getting beamed by an auto rifle which happens to me a lot but I think this is more due to delay from crappy p2p connections and not because snipers are broken

The new 180 might be a counter to the snipers if you can roll timed payload. I haven't tested it yet.
