Well Mr. Hook, any thoughts on how this Blue Gill ended up like this?
I think a small alligator grabbed it and it escaped and healed.

Hmm, cool. My other fish have healed from extreme injuries before so my idea wasn't that far of a stretch, for instance, the pesky little Spotted Sunfish who kept getting in the camera was grabbed by a cat and had no skin on one side of its body . I did think it weird that it stopped at the fin.

Well, my study of fish is a graphite pole and a little peice of plastic lol. I do know a good bit about fresh water fish so I could keep them in tanks. What's weird is ich never killed any of my fish.

Also, you can age a fish with their version of an ear correct? You count the rings like a tree.
