Hunter dodge should not have damage resistance.

A dodge should be to just get out of a fight. It should not have damage resistance. All other class abilities leave you vulnerable except hunter dodge. They really should take more damage when dodge as you are not really braced to get hit in a dodge.

      Dodge doesnt give damage resistance, everything still does full damage. Evasive dodge does what its supposed to do, EVADE. They only change thats needed is the bonus evasiveness in 1 of the arcstrider trees which makes it almost impossible to kill the super during the dodge spam.

      • warloc class ability gets to choose , resistance or damage. titan can stand behind a wall and blind you for encrouching on their safe space. hunter gets to dodge and still die.

            what? Isn't the point of a dodge to get out of the way, and not put yourself in harms way? Also I'm pretty sure it does not get significant damage resistance, there's even a medal for killing a dodging hunter. One other thing, the entirety of Hunter movement is based around the dodge. in year 1 we had primaries only, no OHK abilities, and way longer cooldown times. All classes base class ability cooldown was 30 seconds which made Hunters completely useless, the only redeeming factors being smoke bomb showing up as enemies on radar, Gemini Gesters being super effective because of the slower TTK, and Bottom Strider because it is the only class with damage resistance on dodge. Hunters are so prominent now because of their quick lateral movement and easy maneuverability paired with cheesy OHK weapons (shotguns) and even ability combos (smoke w/ grenade). Even if Hunters had a 5 second cooldown and no damage resisting dodge, it would be much harder for them to get kills using low TTK double primaries

            • All other class abilities leave you vulnerable? Titan makes a defensive shield. Warlocks get a damage buff or healing rift. If you’re sick of hunters, just say that, let’s not make up false reasons.

              • Yes it does. The other 2 class abilities dont let you vulnerable at all... One is litteraly a wall protecting you from everything. The other is a healing zone that gives you overshield (and to your mates too) Dont blame hunters if you are the kind of players that is using a barricade/rift while being shot at bruh

                    • Well the fact is hunters need that ability or they wouldn’t be hunters, and the downfall is that every super we have has such a short usage and time limit compared to oooh i dunno the warlocks and titans that can circle the map twice while still being able to kill everything in sight? Warlocks and titans have exotic armour with game breaking abilities, compared to hunters exotics so thats another weakness, hunters have way to many disadvantages in pvp besides being able to dodge cause we get melted faster than any class.

                      • i think majority of apelocks and titans doesnt have enough braincells to shot the hunter while hes dodging cause you know that might be shocking for you, hunter cant shot while dodging...

                      • Hunter dodge, health regen/overshield buff is the most broken thing in this game. Add that to a class that makes them go invis and double jump faster than you can aim at them. They are broken, overly powered. It's why the majority of players play on hunters in pvp. It's cause this one ability makes them broken. Something should be done about it, but bungie won't do that. Hunters are built for pvp. Titans can be just as broken as well. Warlocks have annoying abilities to. But they are sitting ducks really and most of their abilities are dog shit or slow regen. Hunter get instant health buff and shield buff on dodge. A warlock has to hide behind a wall and put down a well, which takes probably 5 times longer than an instant dodge. We can talk about this all day long but it falls on deaf ears. Best thing to do is not support the game. Once everyone stops playing, even if it's for a month. Bungie will take notice and stop being lazy assholes on content and appreciating players time invested.

                            Titans get sheilds. Warlocks get rifts. Hunters get dodge. Titan's sheilds can block a golden gun and a rocket. They got a new exotic that literally let you shoot behind the sheild. Warlocks get little arc bubbles that flinch like crazy. It's insanely hard to kill a warlock in a rift with an oversheild unless you land nothing but crits. They can also instantly heal while on death's door. Hunter dodge doesn't make you immune to damage. You can take less damage by dodging at the right second, but you still take damage. You can still die while dodging though. Somebody mentioned how hunters get reload dodge, invisible dodge, faster sprint with a dodge, etc ..let me cover this topic too while I'm here. Titans get an exotic that instantly gives back health if they put up a shield. They also get their increase reload speed and an over sheild when they put up their shield. Also let me bring up that exotic again that let's you shoot through the sheild while the enemy team can't. The sheild alone blocks damage. Warlocks get increased reload in rifts with an exotic. They also get the little bubbles with a rift to help kill enemies. They also get their oversheild/instant heals with rifts. Hunters have two basic dodges one is a faster melee regen dodge or a reload dodge. The other things people mention is with a certain class or exotic.We get an invisible dodge with a super. (They aren't really invisible.. I've head shotted plenty of "invisible" hunters.) With an exotic we can drop a bomb that probably won't kill anybody. We get something that makes us sprint faster when we dodge. (We aren't the mobility class or anything.) People also mention wormhusk a lot, so let's touch up on that too. Is it good? Yeah, but let remind everybody that titan's have one eye mask. Are they impossible to kill? No. (To the warlocks just give it time and you'll get your time to shine with the warlock variant which will also be broken and nerfed.) All this boils down to is people getting salty that they couldn't kill somebody. Make better plays, get better with your aim, and learn to counter the things that kill you. Hunters have a dodge to help them live or get out of bad situations. Working as intended. Titans get a sheild to protect themselves. Working as intended. Warlocks get rifts to heal themselves. Working as intended. What is broken here? I literally don't understand your argument. Yes, I main a hunter, but that doesn't change the fact that hunter dodge doesn't need a nerf. We are allowed to have an ability to help us avoid death and use that ability to our advantage just like everybody else.
