Warlock PvP Super Issues

Ok let me get something straight, are Warlocks just nerfed to try and stop them from entering the Crucible? If so, why? Do you only want Hunters and Titans in there? What do you have against Warlocks that makes you nerf them so violently? Alright now that I got that off my chest, let’s talk about what you’ve done to intentionally neuter the Warlock Class: Voidwalker Attunement of Fission (Nova Warp): First you went after the Super itself, then it was the Grenade ability and now it’s both. Well congratulations, you just killed a Subclass! Stormcaller Attunement of Conduction (Arc Web): Why’d you nerf Ionic Blink? The only reason that super is used over Landfall is because of the mobility factor. Nerfing the range of Ionic Blink didn’t stop it from being used over Landfall. Dawnblade Attunement of Flame (Phoenix Dive): You took away Self-Rez when you launched D2 and gave us Dawnblade, so why’d you go and nerf the speed? Was it to make Attunement of Sky seam better? If that’s the case then you failed miserably. Fun fact: the Bottom path has no neutral game. This is just another example of nerfing something without fixing its issues. Voidwalker (Top and Bottom Path Nova Bombs): You took away Lance and Shatter when you launched D2, my question is why? I already know that you gave Shatter to Hunters (example: Blade Barrage), but why’d you take away the only effective version of Nova Bomb for the Crucible? Now that you’ve seen some hard facts, let’s discuss what could be done to help restore some dignity to the Warlock Class: Voidwalker Attunement of Fission (Nova Warp): • Nova Warp • Increase the blast radius to 16m, up from 13m. • Decrease charge time to 0.6s, down from 0.7s • Handheld Supernova • Remove self damage or reduce it to 30%. • Remove the increased charge time. Voidwalker Attunement of Hunger (Vortex): • Vortex • FFS please just give us Lance already but keep the vortex effects. Stormcaller Top & Bottom Paths: • Stormcaller • Remove the 150% ramp up BS entirely. • Increase base damage output to 150%. Stormcaller Attunement of Conduction (Arc Web): • Ionic Blink • Remove the distance nerf. Stormcaller Attunement of Control (Chaos Reach): • Chaos Reach • Raise the camera angle to stop the user from blocking their own view. • Increase the beam endpoint radius to 4m, up from 2.4. • Increase damage resistance to 52%, up from 40%. Stormcaller Attunement of the Elements (Landfall): • Landfall • Buff damage by 100% (same as double). • Make it possible to use multiple times as a heavy attack, costs 23% super energy per use. • Electrostatic Surge • New bonus perk, Grenade kills trigger a bolt of lightning from above. Causes a 3m AoE per kill and only deals 50% of Grenade damage. Dawnblade Top & Bottom Paths: •Dawnblade • Remove the burst glide speed nerf. Dawnblade Attunement of Sky (Icarus Dash): • Dawnblade • If you really want people to use this path over the bottom one then give the swords a much larger AoE. It doesn’t track like the bottom path so it needs to be more forgiving than it currently is. Dawnblade Attunement of Flame (Phoenix Dive): • Fated for the Flame • New bonus perk: Solar weapon kills cause targets to explode in Solar energy, temporarily (5secs) igniting nearby enemies. • Everlasting Fire • New bonus perk: Enemies afflicted with ignite take more damage (25% de-buff) from all sources.

    • Alright I’m done with this, I main Warlock consistently, try this, DONT USE BURST GLIDE, wow I’m amazing. Second don’t use top tree Dawnblade, it’s overrated and unless you’re extremely skilled you will never use to it’s full potential. Third, if you are not running Ophidian Aspect or Transversive Steps in crucible as a Warlock I’m sorry but you’re garbage stop. Ophidian Aspect makes everything have QuickDraw which is great and Transversive Steps make you faster and forget about reloading. With Strafe Glide and Bottom Tree Dawnblade you should be able to ATLEAST get 3-4 kills a super which more than enough. Bakengansta the YouTube made a video about this. Stop your bs. Become a better warlock, learn it, practice it, master it.

      • What do you mean nova warp sucks? Its insane. I get anywhere from 5-8 kills when I pop it. This isnt bungie ruining warlock, this is just you not practicing/fully utilizing every part of the super[spoiler]stop[/spoiler]

        • Some of the changes are pretty extreme. BUT I am also a warlock main and I see handheld like every 100 games. What I do see still is One Eyed Mask titans with striker titan killing everyone and then popping their infinite super. Or spectral blades which is impossible to escape from. Or basically any other ultimate. But I have been using Stormtrance landfall lately and tbh I fell in love with it. Since Stormtrance and Dawnblade are the only ultimates being used in pvp, its only a matter of time when Hunters and Titans start to complain about it. What I think would be a fun change, would maybe make well reliable in pvp. It might sound bs, but maybe if they made well deal a bit more damage (the activation). Currently it deals 80 damage in pvp and burns the enemies. Maybe adding like a fun exotic that would make Well a bit more exciting to use in pvp, while tunning it down in pve. I love Well in pve, but I have to agree, its a bit overpowered. <3 ily guys dont eat me alive its just my silly ideas

          • It’s funny how they nerf any warlock ability that can be seen as good in the crucible. For example, they nerfed arc chain even though I died to it maybe one time per season. They also nerfed handheld , so that hunters can continue running around with a shotgun during the entire match. Bungie needs to respect warlocks.

              • These are some excellent ideas and sound really great for PvE. I personally would love to have Novabomb exactly the way it was in D1 and Stormcaller too. I think Lance, Shatter, and Bloom should definitely return somehow. Imagine an exotic that grants all 3 on bottom tree Voidwalker or both Novabomb trees...sends shudders up your spine to think of that awesomeness. Lol.

              • LOL. You are aware that Nova warp was buffed this season because they over nerfed it in the one prior right? It's relatively balanced now. However for todays gamers balanced mean not good because it's not top tier. Hand held super nova combined with contraverse hold was absolutely brain dead. If you read the changes to it they didn't really nerf it and I can tell you first hand it's still good, just not brain dead. Speaking of Brain dead Dawnblade was just that. Fastest super in the game at no cost for the movement with absurd tracking. You don't need burst glide for it to be good at all! Also top tree does have a small amount of tracking. They added that late yr1. It's just not fling in a direction and get a free kill good like bottom. You have to do that thing called aiming. Agree that the storm caller nerf was completely uncalled for. I have to say that your buff suggestions aren't outrageous for the most part like most buff posts. But buffing landfall that hard is a bit much. Though the heavy attack idea is kinda cool i must admit. The grenade one is decent as well. The dawnblade idea's sound like exotic perks so that won't happen. That path has the bad neutral because it's super is so F'ing good. Other supers, like arcstrider, need an exotic to do what it does and still isn't as efficient.

                • Because stormcaller and handheld nova weren't a totally busted before all this. Huh? The idea of handheld is you use it at full health. You can't panic spam it as you're taking fire. Its not totally broken now. You have to think before you use it

                    I agree with 100% of what you hurt but it kinda hurts when I made a post about reverting the self-damage nerf to handheld, and I get lynched to hell by literally all the hunter and titan sweats on these forums. But this post is getting massive support? 🤷‍♂️ people on the forums need to make up their damn minds. Warlocks need love too Bungie, for a company who advocates diversity, you do seem to love shitting on the minority..... Edit: yeah nvm y’all sweats are nothing but hypocritical losers who just love putting down a fellow gamer instead of helping them to rise up

                      The stormcaller buffs would let it kill supers in 3 ticks, which is almost uncontestable for how much range it has. It's not a good idea. Giving landfall 4x damage would let it kill supers and you want to make it a fist of havoc style attack too...yeah I'm going to have to disagree. These are ridiculous buffs to be honest with you and I don't think they are very well thought out. With just the 150% ramp up (which takes a while) it can shred the hell out of supers already and you want it to be a base 200% yeah, please reconsider this. Also chaos reach can have more damage resistance, but being a cancellable hit scan super that charges faster AND is really hard to kill is going to be a problem (that arcstrider exotic scares the crap out of me). Some of these are good, but they don't...look to be anything necessarily fair to crucible.

Well congratulations, you just killed a Subclass![/quote] Dude, relax. I'm glad Bungie is moving away from cheesy-no skill methods of getting kills in the Crucible. I'm fine with some of them, and most if not all aren't too bad now. HHSN got nerfed, but the Warp super overall got a nice and fair buff. My point is: all this cheese (for all classes) have no place in Pvp. No class is immune to these changes. The recent patch- all classes got nerfs to their 1shot/cheesy abilities. ALL CLASSES HAVE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. LEARN THEM OR STOP COMPLAINING.

                          • Some of these seem a little over the top, but I agree. As a hunter, Warlocks suck. I feel bad, Titans could use some love and tweaking but Warlocks could use one/two changes specifically which would help them immensely. Make rift actually useful!? Rift needs to either be slightly bigger, or maybe last longer?? Something just so it is more useful! Also, the Hunters have so many exotics that use dodge, which is fine, but most exotics for warlock rifts seem so.... meh. So make those exotics more useful since rift is not as common as dodge and should have more room for builds with exotics.

                          • A few of these are overkill, but I will say Handheld got gutted way too hard, as with everything that gets nerfed in this game. Handheld nerfs lined up: >Charge time increased by 150% >Hold time decreased by ~50% >Deals more damage to self than to enemies >Cone angle decreased >Explosion radius decreased >Range decreased Contraverse nerf: >Armor decreased by 50% The compensation: >Grenade energy return from void ability kills increased by 14% Seven very effective power reductions, and the one buff gives you your grenade back an entire two seconds faster. Incredible. Bungie seriously overreacts when nerfing things.

                                  As a void lock main since the D1 beta that state of locks hurts right now. I main blink and always will so long as I play this game. If my only choices are all awful I will not be playing this game. Also can we get buffs to both axion bolts and scatter grenades? They’ve been awful since D2 came out. Fix them. We better see buffs next sandbox patch.

                                  • Top dawn super needs to be improved. Either tracking, longer range, faster swords or the super to last longer. Warlock also needs SOME way to lower down. Other trees ADS drops you, here we need something to replace that. Several times Ive hit Super and died because Im too high for the map and have no way to drop. Neutral game is fine only because it has some piece of manoeuvrability that comes as standard in other classes.

                                    • Do understand why top tree dawnblade has a worse super then lower? Honest question? And if u know the answer why are u complaining? Do u rely on ur super to get crucible kills?

                                        I'm perfectly fine with the time it takes to charge Handheld now. I think it stops people from pulling it out right before they die and trading when they shouldn't have. Besides that, I pretty much agree.

                                      • I absolutely agree with you, Attunement of Fission Super for example is not equal to that of a Hunter or a Titan Super where they get frenzy speed and can OHK you any time. You also have like zero surviveability as Warlock in that subclass and you have to go meele. I also do not understand the way bongo is going right now, for me crucible became much worse since the update and all this Suros and Hardlight spam is additionally annoying.

                                      • Gonna be honest. I'm a Titan main in D2 was a Warlock main in D1. But instead of self revive being brought back... Because trials would become a bigger dumpster fire. Don't play it myself personally. Why not radiant skin? With that perk active in D1 you could melee fight bosses and win. Plus bring back the over shield on melee and you are almost invincible. With a Max resilience and strength build that could destroy PvP and be god like in PvE. Would have to revert to force slap though instead of fire blasts. Ranged over shield generator.... Uuuuuuhhhhh... No. Just. No.
