I have no access to mic because I just never really found the opportunity (don’t ask why), but I want to experience a raid sometime. Hear that raids need lots of cooperation and are supposed to be social activities, so I might be defeating the purpose if I don’t use a mic or discord?

Raids are communication based. I’m sure you could do one without a mic if using the PC chat, but on console, it would be a no go.

2 RepliesDeaf player here. I beat all Raids in D1. Tip: Know what you're doing is very important and pay close attention to what other players are doing, etc. It'll becomes much easier the more you play raids. It's fun. There are YouTube that cover entire Raids that teach what to do, etc. Worth a shot.

I am deaf I beat raid many time I use in game chat on PC Nearly impossible for console that is why I moved to PC Some people are toxic when I try to explain that I am deaf

3 RepliesMute person here; it's absolutely possible. You just need some good friends or some chill randoms who ain't a buncha nerds.

4 RepliesI call BS. Every PS4 comes with a mic. Even if you lost it or it broke, you can plug in any headset from a cell phone into the jack on the controller. Who doesn't have a cell phone these days? You can pick up those headsets for just a few dollars from places like monoprice.com. If you don't communicate, don't expect to raid.

it can be very difficult without a microphone. my suggestion would be to join one of the deaf clans that complete raids without microphones. its nuts they can do that, but also incredible.

Edited by vl FReAK lv: 3/24/2020 12:14:14 PM$10 at Walmart you can get the skullcandy ear buds they have a built in mic
-
One of the top streamer on mixer uses ear buds with a mic. I’m near a 99 cent store and dollar general. Just plug into the 3.5 mm port on your Xbox controller.

1 ReplyAbsolutley I've done raids without mics (early d1) and have done raids with players who don't have mics you just have to find a group who is ok with it, if anything I've noticed no mic players are actually better than most normal players :)
-
Also, Mics can be as cheap as £10... So maybe just save up some pocket money? I realise this is less of an ideal answer...
-
It's possible, but you need a patient and willing team to manage this. Since most of the Raids have a position where just shooting is a thing you could do a fair amount of them in this role. You could also use emotes to signify certain words quite easily. Wave = yes Sit= no Dance= I have the buff Whatever= I need help You just need to decide the emotes before the particular raid segment I wonder if there any Primarily Deaf clans etc that might be able to offer some advice on how they do it...

Sitting on the island on the Garden Boss. Pull Pull Pull Pull PULL PULL PULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I would never play a D2 raid with someone who couldnt speak
-
Depends on the raid you're doing and the people you're doing it with.
-
If you have an android phone the headphones/mic combo that come with it should work.
-
You might find some Sherpas that would do this but it’s unlikely. This isn’t a dig at you but I just see it that if someone cannot talk to us then why should we play with them. I know there are some anxiety or maybe even personal health issues that stop people coming one mic and that’s a different case but if it’s not one of these reasons then I’d suggest you maybe try and get a cheap mic and watch some of the raid walkthrough videos before going to LFG. Good luck with whatever you choose as raids are a really great part of Destiny.

Wanting to raid is your opportunity to get yourself a headset with a microphone.
-
Its doable but its gonna be difficult if you dont find the correct team. Ive completed all D1 raids and most D2 raids at least a few times without a mic, but then again, I had really good friends basically "pick up my slack" for not being able to talk.
-
50-50. Depends on the people.
-
Raid need all players to do something. So it is best if you can at least hear others talk.
