Can someone fill me in on what happened in iron lords?
I only played a little bit of destiny and I never played the dlcs. The only thing I know about iron lords is: SIVA, and fallen are somehow involved.

Edited by Yoder023: 3/31/2020 1:28:38 PMIn a major summary: - Iron Lords were numerous, many unnamed. - They found SIVA. - Tried to control it, everyone but Saladin and Effideet died. - Lady Jolder suicides to shut down the area so SIVA would stay locked away. - Saladin chose to stay guard in case it was found again. - Effideet turned Pacifist and joined a Pacifist settlement (we still don't know where). - Fallen find SIVA, worship it, use it to become stronger, then think they have ascended because they love Tech that makes them stronger, lose themselves in the process as SIVA takes them over. - Saladin alerts Guardians. - Guardians stop SIVA, learn Rasputin controls SIVA. (He doesn't like being used or controlled) - Learn SIVA are nanites that that do nearly anything. Build. Change. Manipulate. Corrupt. Defend. Attack. ECT. - There's a Raid & Guardians kill everyone in it. - Outbreak Prime is made into a weapon. Now it's Outbreak Perfected in D2. That's MOST of it. Oh, and you're an Iron Lord if you played. Just a title, no real perks. [spoiler]In D2, now you see why Saladin and Zavala don't trust Rasputin, and honestly, they're right; however, do you trust Anna Bray can reign him in from time to time?[/spoiler]

11 RepliesEdited by Grays_KS27: 3/22/2020 3:37:01 PMThere was some Golden Age tech called SIVA. SIVA are nanomites that use matter encryption tech to break down matter and repurpose it. We learned that shortly after Six Fronts the Iron Lords were trying to contact Rasputin and stumbled on SIVA. Rasputin released SIVA as a defensive measure and slaughtered the Iron Lords with his defenses. In the end the last of the Iron Lords sealed the SIVA Replication Chamber (the source of SIVA), and only Saladin survived. We refer to this as the 1st SIVA Crisis. Then in the Destiny 1 Rise of Iron expansion the Splicers from House Devils rediscover SIVA. Splicers are Fallen groups within each House that are dedicated to using science and technology to enhance the Fallen. The Devil Splicers began experimenting with SIVA and became a splinter group with the goal of becoming perfect machines, taking over the Cosmodrome and spreading SIVA. So we go and kill the Splicers and destroy the Replication Chamber with help from Saladin. We call this the 2nd SIVA Crisis. And we learned about some of the main Iron Lords and that they basically started the idea of Lightbearers working together to protect humanity in the late Dark Ages.

The Iron Lords launched a full scale expedition in an attempt to reclaim SIVA, a golden age technology which was to be used to build Colonies. They wanted it to help rebuild Humanity. Felwinter contacted Rasputin to make their intentions clear to the Warmind. Rasputin responded by unleashing all manner of weaponry on the Iron Lords, including SIVA itself. All of the Iron Lords excluding Saladin and Efrideet were killed during this assault. Saladin was the only survivor of the event and Efrideet had left the Iron Lords prior to this. That’s basically what we know, but this season seems like it might be bringing back up an old lore thread about Felwinter and his possible connection to Rasputin, which might shine some new context on the Warmind’s slaughter. And for the sake of clarification I should note Rasputin wasn’t betraying Humanity at this point, he simply didn’t trust the Light-Bearers with the potential weapon that was SIVA.
