Over my time playing destiny 2, I've began to notice a pattern. The guns in this game just dont "hit that button" like alot of the d1 guns did.
Take crimson: by all means it is an objectively better red death, however, while I have upwards of over 8k kills on my master worked crimson; over the course of d1 (I only got red death when xur sold it later) I had upwards of 20k maybe more on red death. It was one of the only 2 exotics I used (the other being the first curse) barring needs for dps.
Why did red death feel better? I dont know. Maybe the kick seemed more satifying, the punch in the gut to range crimson had being a HC, or maybe the aesthetic of it just looked better on that rifle model. Whatever it is, crimson just doesn't tick my checkbox for the itch I go back to d1 to feel.
The same can be said about some of the returning exotics, like bad juju. Bad juju feels great to use, one of the best feeling weps in D2 IMO, but something just doesnt feel the same.

1 ReplyThe eyasluna lookalike in d2 is not as good as the d1 version. The austringer is not as accurate as other handcannons....why is this?
