Let's be real here, this community is soft.
Players are already upset that they can't turn in their tokens because they can't get 3 wins before losing their entire card.
Can you imagine the uproar if there was actually cool loot that those players "couldn't" get? That's why the perks are bad. That's why there's nothing special for going Flawless.
We aren't going to get good loot for truly difficult activities until that portion of the community accepts that if they can't earn their loot, they don't deserve it.
It's a mean thing to say, but it's a pill that needs to be swallowed. I feel bad for Bungie that they have to cater to that extremely vocal side of the community.
Edit:
I see a lot of people assuming that I want a LH/NF or a Light Level Advantages situation here, where the strong just get stronger. That's not what I'm implying. I'm saying that for going Flawless, even in base game D2, there was special rewards (a different armour set for context (I'm pretty sure that was the case, I very well could be wrong)).
But in present day D2, you get your emblem and that's it. There's not even anything to collect for going Flawless multiple times. No universal ornament, no shader to go after, no exotic ornaments, sparrow, ship, ghost, nothing.

4 RepliesEdited by Sinisis: 3/20/2020 1:30:45 AMPeople try to make it sound so complicated when it's so simple. Forsaken was the best Destiny 2 has ever been, by unanimous consensus of the community. There was absolutely no valid reason (other than Bungo greed and laziness) for them to change so much thereafter. Businesses (like Amazon) that follow the golden principles (the customer is always king; if it's not broken, don't fix it, etc) will always thrive while companies like bungie will always struggle to survive. What's soft is making excuses for Bungie and blaming the playerbase. Fact is that bungie clearly doesn't have a clear vision for this game, hence why dlcs and seasons have been hits or misses. It's not about cool rewards, people being soft, etc, it comes down to good leadership and it's clear that bungie is lacking in that.

10 RepliesEdited by Spicy HOT Sploog: 3/20/2020 3:04:26 AM100% agree, Datto’s new video really calls out the community in a lot of these areas. About how Bungie cant make anything thats hard rewarding because too many people suck to actually get it and whine excessively. Really explains why loot in D2 sucks and all the new weapons are 99% useless.

19 RepliesEdited by yafeelme: 3/19/2020 9:37:47 AMThe forums in a nutshell. Basically the community wants strong weapons to get. But like, make it easy so everyone can get it. But don't make it to OP that it ruins PVP. Don't make it to easy either because I want to work for my gear just not like, you know, too hard. Don't include puzzles that are aimed at streamers but make sure it has enough mystery to it that keeps me engaged. And don't take it away, like....ever. Make it so that I don't have to farm another weapon ever again until you make something just as easy, yet not too easy...or OP, can't forget that part either, but not to OP for PVP. And just continuely make weapons that are all that stuff, over and over and over. And somehow find a way to make effective content for all players, solo and group who will have all those weapons too. But make sure there's no stomp mechanics or throwing orbs into other orbs. Just make managerie up to date but like also give us new content that similar but also like not similar because I'm sick of the managerie but I still feel we need it updated because i fear I might miss out on something so special in this terrible game that I don't play only I need to stop playing because bungie doesn't listen to my posts and I don't know why because I honestly I don't ask for much.

While that's possible, I think they just wanted to keep them consistent with Raid weapons. In D1, Raid weapons had intrinsic perks like Adept weapons. In D2, they moved what used to be the Raid weapons' intrinsic perks to be mods you could put on any weapon. Making things like Snapshot or Celerity mods would be too strong.

2 Repliesisn't the armor only rewarded for going flawless?
-
Nah, bungo are.

Edited by Accola: 3/20/2020 10:17:51 PMNo, we aren't soft, bungie is. Players aren't going to admit that they aren't good enough for some content.

34 RepliesEdited by A Lion of Judah: 3/20/2020 4:23:36 PMThat's a good take, if this were real life. People don't play games to feel like they have to keep up with the Jones's or quit. It isn't good business to alienate the majority so that 7 scarab lords can't feel accomplished for their achievement in a videogame. You don't deserve shit...you push buttons on a computer or controller and learn the muscle memory by repetitive gameplay. If you went to real combat, shot at real people who hated you for nothing other than your existence, and came out alive, you deserve something. People thinking that a video game should make them feel important or elite for basic motor function, it's absolutely pathetic. This game takes no SKILL or EFFORT to do any part of destiny 2. Even flawless can be achieved by a total smoothbrain, there is nothing special, nor impressive about it. Just accept that it's a video game and isn't intended to make you feel accomplished...it's meant to make you forget about work, or that ticket you got, it's meant to take you into another world for a moment, and let you enjoy yourself. Feeling any sense of accomplishment over it, while totally your right, is a result of a lack of perspective. Nothing more.

1 ReplyWell by your own logic most people don't deserve to get any loot from Riven because almost everyone cheeses it.
-
Raiders and Trialers want the best shit but cant accept Bungie isn't going to put the most effort into the least engaging activities in the game. Sorry. Make them more inclusive or accept your mediocrity. Destiny 1 is dead. Bungie got a taste of that MTX money over the last few months and daddy likes.

This community gets exactly what it deserves. Every single season. No more and no less.
-
Constant tears have diluted this game and I blame Bungie for trying to cater to guys that will cry, no matter what they do. Please go back to being a game developer as opposed to being a bad parent.
-
I’m still upset mountain top was made a hand out weapon. God forbid a gun in the game is hard to get.
-
You are correct. Also consider that even if there were good rolls from high end activities (there are for some, perhaps not currently) it doesn’t matter because you can get a god roll from several basic world drops or even the gunsmith. So why bother trying for end game? This was a change from last game so players don’t feel left out. Which the community also does to itself. Another take is that they’re getting us ready for a new weapon system. Right now if it doesn’t have a damage plus reload perk, or reload, slide shot, quick draw, snapshot, or best MW for its class it’s considered trash save a couple unique perks for the few that actually use builds. I mean when all the loot sources are about the same with god rolls then none of them are special. There is also the argument of keeping the old sources valid so the new stuff doesn’t replace it. In the end there’s no making everyone happy. But they gotta do something to make some stuff actually appealing and so called worth it.

1 ReplyEdited by CheeksthemClaps: 3/20/2020 10:01:43 AMSparrow is from going flawless I believe, but yes I agree. Even tho my chance of going flawless is low, if I can't get it,, it's on me.

Edited by DragonKnight901: 3/20/2020 10:17:52 AMI’ve never done, raids or gone flawless/ not played trials not even back in d1, but that being said i carn’t say anything about how others feel but for me im saying im sorry, im sorry that you carn’t have anything to show that you went flawless, the only thing you have is an emblem that will let the glows fade after 2 weeks, i hope sooner or later they’ll bring back the adept weapons for you all
-
Why is everyone’s argument to community feedback or requests always “people will complain” 😆 Guess what, people will complain regardless. A game shouldn’t be made one way or another because of fear that people will complain. People complained for over 2 years in D1 that they paid for the game so they should be able to go to the lighthouse and bungie was robbing them by forcing them to go flawless to get there. Complaints about that and the meta like 2HK thorns being used by 75% of the people playing trials, was really all we had. I honestly don’t remember anyone in D1 complaining about adept weapons since they were the same weapons you could get by playing and not going flawless, just a different color and a slight edge with its addition perk like adept weapons having snapshot or last man standing - neither of which is enough to break the game or cause reason for complaining. 2 players with scholar go against each other, the better player is going to win, regardless if one of them has an extra perk like snapshot or not.

Yes mate, trials are nothing more than a series of elimination games with a public location at the end. They are nothing more than old recycled content brought back to the game as a means to divert attention from the actual lack of content. When and where did Bungie claim otherwise? Bungie knows they can sell you and the other people who like to pay upfront, stuff they are shown only bad facts about. Then you and the others always dare to come on the forums like disappointed prima donnas complaining about the very situation you inspired and supported all along. Get real!
-
If they put Stubborn Oak as the Flawless weapon, PvE mains would freak out
-
Its why trials should have never come back. This is exactly all the negative shit that comes with it. It then costs us new creative ways for bungie to entice us.
-
3 RepliesI agree. I'm terrible at pvp. I don't think I should be able to get sweaty awesome loot in pvp unless I work for it. Same with raiding. I wish raid gear had better stats. I may not be good at raids either, but I have fun and try harder to do better each time. I accept that I won't get any sweaty pvp gear if I don't put the work in for it (at least that's what it was in D1) but it seems anyone can get the "new" trials gear.
-
4 RepliesIf adept weapons were merely cosmetic I think most would be fine with it. If they provide a combat advantage that would be no bueno for the ecosystem as a whole. I think going flawless should be celebrated and elite members of the community deserve recognition. Adept skins, ornaments, and emotes would do that without creating balance issues.
-
3 RepliesWhats wrong with the strong getting stronger? Nothing Its not all our fault, Bungie is about “WE ARE ALL EQUAL MMKAY” bs Honestly, let the no lifers get as strong as they want and show it off and give them their own arena to compete in, the rest of us who don’t spend time researching how to do everything the fastest and most efficient way would like our own area space we can compete in. And then you can have a middle ground where we can compete all together with just pure skill. That would be something to look forward to. There needs to be some sort of ranking system! And a play space for each echelon.

About time i see a post like this and it has upvotes. 100% agree

While I agree with everything you have said let’s be real. The last two season at least have been utter garbage. This season there is nothing in it. Everything from trials to iron banner to new guns and armor in the game are fricking reskins reintroduced from D1 or just straight up things from 2 seasons ago. It’s been one week into the new season and there literally is nothing new to do if you ran once the new activity. Which by is shit too. This is was supposed to be the better bungie after activision. After all these bullshit then they have the nerve to charge 10-15$ for a damn ornament. I think a combination of all these things it’s what’s making people complain more then an underpowered gun, because as far as that goes it looks like they’re on the way of “go slow” update as of late. It’s not just guns they’ve nerfed but also content in each update. It’s because of people who still defend them after all the shit they pull that they keep doing this
