So basically the only people who disagree that you have to log in daily to get anything out of destiny are people who log in daily.
Great...
But for the rest of the population, destiny is a poor choice of game. Because even if you pay money to support the devs, you aren't getting anything out of it, you can't pick up and play and have a good time, you either
A. Make do with outdated weapons and play strikes and other neglected game modes, like the story.
Or
B. Do incessant bounties for hours per day, to get the chance of having guns you actually enjoy using, to have a chance at completing raids or anything new (which is minimal these days)
Destiny isn't appealing to the average gamer...and it isn't appealing to hardcore gamers who actually want something substantial for the hours they unload on destiny...instead, it's just more bounties.
And if you buy the season pass, expecting to have something to curb the content drought, well, you're SOL because seasons aren't really that much content, and you can't play it anyways if you didn't spend your days doing the necessary hours of bounties and arbitrarily leveling light. So the main draw is getting more rewards from the level up, which still requires you to log in daily to complete...a chore that most people don't have the luxury of.
I will probably max the rank this season, that's no problem, I work from home.
But, for instance, my brother, who is actually really skilled at FPS games, won't be making rank 100 or even 50, because he can only play 2-3 days a week, for an hour or two at a time, and during that time he wants to play missions and modes that offer the most fun...which is strikes, forges, heroic story missions etc. instead of spending half the limited time he has grabbing bounties from the tower.
Basically its either you play daily, and however bungie wants you to play, or you should just stick with the 'free' path, which already cost 200 bucks for most of us.
Bungie doesn't appeal to anyone but those who want to put in minimal effort, maximum time and simply grind mindless bounties so they can have a thing which makes them feel superior, until they turn of their console.
It's about having stuff other people don't have...that's literally the game right now...and it's not appealing.
60% drop in players. And nothing but hate on every forum...I don't think I'm alone
