The Tale of Despereaux
If you had Netflix around 2013, you’ve probably seen this movie. Sometimes it’s creepy as hell, sometimes it’s weird as hell, and all the time it’s just slightly unsettling. I have no pleasant memories of this film. I don’t know if everyone feels this way about it or it’s just me, but it feels off.
Rango
Unironically a really great movie. The detail put into the characters was just slightly strange because everyone was designed to look kinda nasty, but this movie has it all. The plot is entertaining and the jokes still hit me, it gets you to care about the protagonist even though he’s just a dumbass lizard faking a persona, the design of the tiny western town made up of everyday items is somehow kinda sick (to me at least) and it has a RATTLESNAKE with a GUN TAIL. I’ve truly never seen another movie like this one. It deserves better recognition
Flushed Away
If you haven’t seen it, please do. I don’t care how old you are, watch it. Aardman claymation films are truly gold. There isn’t much I can say about this movie because you sorta have to experience it yourself.
Milo and Otis
I have no idea why, but every person I mention this movie to has seen it. Why did we all sit around as kids to watch a pug and cat go on an adventure narrated by a British man with a calming voice
The Secret of Moonacre
You’ve probably only seen this if you were once a ten year old girl, and even then you might’ve missed it, but I remember it so I’m gonna talk about it. It was weird. There was a Moon Princess who used to be in love with this rich orphan girl’s uncle, and some thing with a magic pearl ritual, and a gang of goth bandits with bowler hats who wore black handkerchiefs exclusively over their noses and nothing else, and I’m pretty sure there was a magic chef and a lion pretending to be a dog and stuff.........yeah it was a wild ride
Add more and if I’ve seen them I’ll rate em

The fact that Flushed Away doesn’t have any fart or poop jokes should be commended.

So, there was this one movie I saw as a kid, and I remembered absolutely nothing about it, except there was this one scene near the end where the bad guy said something along the lines of “No! Come back! Please, you can’t leave me alone with them! You can’t leave me alone!”, before getting eaten alive by a flock of crows (or maybe ravens). For years it bugged me, because I just could not remember what this movie was, then, suddenly, out of nowhere, I stumble across this movie called “We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Tale!” and something about it immediately strikes me as familiar. I look into it a bit, and that was it! That was the movie! It was so weird to figure that out! I haven’t rewatched it, though. Oh, and I also remember this movie about some talking books. Couldn’t tell you the name, though.

1 ReplyReturn to Oz is weird and creepy, but still entertaining as a kid. I love how that witch has a whole wall of severed heads, she wears like a hat. Pretty cool.

Rango is a masterpiece.
-
Rango was great but I think it’s probably more a move adults appreciate rather than kids. A lot the references and jokes would probably go straight over kids heads. My obscure movie that I thought was great growing up is Flight of Dragons. I had it on tape as a kid and watched it endlessly. Also shoutout to E.T’s forgotten cousin Mac and Me.

aint nobody gonna tango with the rango

I’ve seen the first three, only really remember the second, though.
