Game won't shutdown after quitting the game
On PC, every time I quit the game it will endlessly continue running on Steam. There is no window, nothing shows up in task manager, and it wont end unless I quit Steam

After 1K hours I had taken a break from the game. I came back a few days ago and seeing this problem that I never had before. It's incredibly bad b/c problem is not just that it keeps running on steam but it also makes my computer unusable. I cannot start up task manager or command line to kill the process. I cannot even force reboot my computer. The only thing I can do is to keep the power button down 5secs to hard boot the computer. Umm, wtf Bungie?

Same. About 5% of the time it will shut down but the rest it stays locked on that window and has to be killed in task manager.

Same problem but my entire pc freezes upon pressing enter to confirm exit so I have to hard reset everytime I forget to task manager close it

Having the same issue. Quit to desktop and game hangs at the confirm scene. Have to close it in Task Manage to return to desktop.

1 ReplyFor me as well, stuck on the quitting screen and have to task end it or windows eventually tells me it's been shutdown because not responding (came with season of the worthy - never happend before).

I had the same issue and it caused my computer to BSOD. Stop code was VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE What failed was nvlddmkm.sys

For me, Destiny 2 hangs on exiting, but quits after a couple of minutes. Since the latest update though, I have seen a return to the game just quitting apropos of nothing. Sometimes I have to log out of Windows and log back in (which requires signing back in to everything). Intel i7-7700K, ASUS 2080 Ti.

Same issue here, though it does eventual pop up a window that says Destiny 2 has stopped working which will close the game.

I have an event in my windows event viewer every single time I go to exit Destiny 2 since update. Is anybody also having FPS drops when you go to a certain place? I also have frame rate stutters when I go to the EDZ but the FPS counter says 90-100 FPS. Is it because of this update? And yes I also have the problem when my game freezes when I close the application Pc specs GTX 1080 I7-8700k 16 gb ram
