Bungie,
For the past few months I have been grinding 980 nfo's for one piece of Warlock exotic armor. So many hours I have lost track. Why because you have chosen 48 as the base for exotics from collections and these days stats on armor matter. With players running around with 100 mobility and 100 recovery every little advantage can make a difference. My statement rng doesn't seem like rng comes from the following. Warlock has 27 pieces of exotic armor. Depending on the random number generator sequence being used there should be a 1 and 27 chance that an armor piece is obtained from the 980 NFO, when it decides to be so giving. How is it that I can get 3 eye of another worlds in a row, 2 Karnstein Armlets, 2 Getaway Artists, 3 claws of Ahamkara, 2 Aeon Souls and the list goes on. It's one thing to not get the exotic you are farming for but to get repeats and threepeats it becomes disheartening and one gets to the point of giving up. Even the random drops in open world are dropping repeats from strikes and raids. BTW the 3rd encounter was an empty chest for me this week, all others gave loot, not even glimmer on the ground. I realize this is probably low on your priorities list but please look at the number generator and consider modifying it so that there is a lesser chance of a repeat, it would be appreciated.

5 RepliesEdited by YJDOOM: 3/9/2020 7:31:35 PMAgreed, I know people will just say.. rng is rng... but it’s not. Something akin to the xp throttling goes on with these drops I am certain. I turned over 100 rank ups to the obelisks this week looking for a last dance and did not get a single one; however I did get 15 arm and 23 leg pieces. Doesn’t add up. Edit: to correct spelling

I just got the lord of wolves and catalyst back to back after a year of grinding

See thru the BS. Bungie can't do anything right... Hey-. Take your mind off it, maybe read a community spotlight. That circle jerk made me forget everything. Nothing like one hand washing the other these days! Propaganda for everyone!

Ever since day 1 D1 each player gets a sub pool of items that can be rewarded. This is not the entire pool for an activity just a small group of available gear. Then after a month or so it gives you anew sub pool. This is how you get the same items for weeks on end and nothing new. What really suck is when it keeps giving you the same sub pool over and over and the gear you want never enters the sub pool.

2 RepliesPit of Heresy apparently only offers boots as a reward. If boots is all anyone needs then Pits where it’s at!

1 ReplyIn 53 SoTP completions I've gotten the Bellowing Giant rocket launcher 49 times, haven't gotten Anarchy to drop from any of those. RNG is busted

1 ReplyEdited by Cinderchar: 3/11/2020 8:50:51 PMBungie might have the worst system for exotic farming I have ever seen in a game. None of the exotics are even that game changing and they either need to seriously up the drop rates or figure out how to limit the pools by assigning groups of exotics to certain activities. Now that stats are back, and we have elemental affinities to deal with, and you need high level materials to masterwork them, there's no reason exotics shouldn't be much more accessible. Bungie just swing so far in one direction or the other its exhausting. It's why most people just don't even care about stats right now, don't really worry about crafting builds, and don't really even MW much of their armor.

15 RepliesEdited by westphilly-queen: 3/9/2020 8:25:46 PMThe rng is confirmed broken (edit: or intentionally manipulated). Count the amount of times you get 3 boots in a row from pinnacle sources. Rng states this is a 0.19% probability (12.5% cubed), yet it happens weekly to countless players. This is just one example. Another one a majority of players will relate to is getting 6 class items in a row from Pit. That's a 0.00038% probability for those that passed statistics class in high school. Both of the above examples should only happen once ever to a handful of players, maybe twice ever if you put in thousands of hours, not something you can set your clock to. But you know good luck getting that 10% 1KV on your 93rd Last wish.

2 RepliesEdited by Emurinus: 3/9/2020 11:07:51 PMIt sure feels like it even if it isn't. Last week I tried rolling for a Bygones with Arrowhead break, HCR, Kill Clip, and Outlaw. I spent about 50-60k fractaline (which comes out to about 450-550 weapons if my math is right) between my remaining fractaline from the week before and the 40.2k generated from the reset. Out of those weapons, I managed to get what felt like 12 weapons that had Headseeker and Opening Shot with them having HCR/APR and Full Bore/Arrowhead Break. Yet, not a single one had the role I was looking for. Hell, just getting Kill Clip/Outlaw was roughly a 1/15 chance much less the HS/OS perks that had to have been 1/5. At least I got 13 Gambit Chromes, well over 2k shards and gunsmith materials, and about 80-90 enhancement cores.

I feel you. Feels super weighted towards Synthoceps for Titans. I get that at least twice as much as anything else, and I've never seen a Peregrine drop from these. At all.

RNG is by definition RNG, technically pseudo RNG. But that’s what it is.

4 RepliesIt’s not really RNG. They stack their trash loot system against you. As someone in the top 1% time played I can say with certainty that they stack the odds against you especially if you play a lot. I pray I see one of these dick suckers in public one day.
-
It isn't. Weapons are clearly weighted. Even worse, the perks are weighted. I don't know how many Spare Rations I've gotten, but if I made a spreadsheet detailing the perks on all of them, we'd see a funny trend. I guarantee it.

I've felt since d1 that exotics are in a smaller loot pool. What they do is put 8 or 9 exotic in a pool and rotate that pool daily. This is to discourage farming exotics in one sitting.

Psst. Its not.
