The gatherer’s meeting, and the funeral also had a similar parallel structure, albeit one that was a little more subtle. In both, Sybil sits away from the crowd, then Tori comes in and sits next to her, before the Captain of the Guard (first Layla, then Tori) stands up and gives a speech. Kinda gives the chapter this whole mirror-like feeling that I loved!

I love when authors do that whole mirror thing too! It just shows that the author takes care to utilize elements that he/she placed at the beginning, which, sadly, is not something all authors do (cough cough sequel writers cough cough). Not only that, but it gives the piece a much more wholistic feel when the end ties back to the beginning and illustrates major change in the plot, but also illustrates how some things haven't really changed at all.
