Ever since I started playing Destiny 2 on PC after coming out on Steam. I have only been able for 1-2 hours at a time as my game would minimise and would open only if clicked to a black screen and then would minimise again, and I would get a pop-up that reads "Problem reading game content. Please close Destiny 2, right click on Destiny 2 in the Steam app to run 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF FILES...# in 'Properties'. Then restart Destiny 2 to try again."

a year later and this issue is STILL a thing for me.

1 ReplyBeen getting the same thing after coming back to the game (on a fresh install) after taking a break from it for a few months due to this very issue. I've had this issue since steam launch. Today, going into my 2nd crucible match it happened again, verifying files does not work, using and SSD/HDD doesn't make a difference, and many other methods players have suggested does not work, this is definitely a technical issue that needs to be fixed. There's no point doing anything like raids, trials, or anything that lasts more then 30 minutes if I'm just going to be booted out of the game.

4 RepliesSo I've been having this exact error for a while and I finally found the cause (for me), turns out my firewall software Bullguard has a "game optimiser", turns out what this thing does is limit the ability of processes to run while I'm playing a game, so as to avoid consuming resources. Thing is it seems that it was preventing whatever this process is that tries to read game content from running, I switched it off and haven't had the error again since. I'm sure this is only one of many possible causes but it may be worth checking you don't have anything similar running. Hope that helps some of you at least.

2 RepliesBUNGIE YOU ARE POSTING (COPY PASTING) THE SAME THING AGAIN AND AGAIN! ""Hello. Thanks for contacting us. You may want to verify the integrity of your game files in the Steam app to see if that helps with your issue. Some players have reported that changing the game language may resolve the issue. If that doesn't help, in your Games library, right-click Destiny 2 and go to Properties. Click Local Files then Browse Local Files to open your Destiny 2 directory. Remove all files in this folder EXCEPT "Packages." Then verify the integrity of Destiny 2 game files again."" WE ARE SICK OF IT! IT DOESN'T WORK! I PAYED 45EUR AND BEFORE ONLY CRUCIAL WORKED. NOW CRUCIAL DOESN'T WORK, EXCEPT OF SURVIVAL! HOPE TO HEAR A REAL ANSWER FROM YOU SOON!

2 RepliesI ended up getting this too at some point it's pretty annoying. mainly because it takes awhile to do while it "verifies" then "installs". then when you do it it just keeps doing it again and again
