So if we are going to be stopping the Almighty from crashing into the Last City I would assume with the involvement of Rasputin we might be destroying it (or unless Rasputin decides harvest what remains of the ship for his own purposes)....which mean we will be destroying the guardian trapped frozen in time aboard the ship.
Bungie what about our fellow guardian?! Do we save him? or is he going to be forgotten as casualty of our ongoing war??
For those who are not familiar with what I'm talking about I linked the the lore explaining his 50,000+ year situation.

He dead

1 ReplySir, I would advise you add the #lore tag to this post. You avoid most of the salt miners that way.
-
Well his ghost is still alive and if the almighty comes close enough to the traveler it’s possible that when the almighty gets destroyed his ghost can bring him back

7 RepliesSounds like a bit to much story for bungie. But I'm sure the only way we could possible save them would be to kill Taken on Io with sidearms, visit Saint-14. Complete 5 lost sectors while wearing Gambit armour, visit the Drifter. Complete 3 public events with 4 different subclasses, visit Ikora and charge up some stupid relic thing.
-
1 ReplyProbably not. Maybe we will see an Easter egg.
-
1 Replyis it even possible to save him? That entry was from Ghost Stories and you get that lore by collecting dead ghosts. So isn't his ghost dead, and he will be powerless when he's unfrozen if he dosen't die in the almighty explosion or whatever?
-
1 ReplyThere is also the fact that we only disabled the almighty so it couldn't fire because breaking its link to the sun would cause the sun to explode.
-
9 RepliesWouldn’t this be amazing if the and more section of the roadmap had a raid fully dedicated to going into the almighty and saving this guardian before it crashes ???
-
1 ReplyA cool idea for a boss fight. We find him and unfreeze him. But he’s totally lost his sanity and we have to fight him. Throughout the fight we can see moments where he doesn’t fight back and instead he tries to hold on to the last bits of his humanity. Idk.

2 RepliesWe can save him. All of us have to donate 100 silver to PrinceOfNigeria@AOL.com Then this Ally of Bungle will purchase the necessary equipment (2 hammers and a crowbar) to free them.
-
It would be funny if they forgot about them
-
if the guardian is not from a minority bungie is going to kill him and forget about him
-
Holy shit I totally forgot about that! This is crazy
-
Wow, great lore there.
-
Us blowing up the ship is probably his best bet to live

4 RepliesEdited by TeslaDoc: 3/6/2020 1:28:45 AMDude wakes up. Sniffs the cool, dry, stale air in the crypt. Is that ... a top note of smoke? No, not smoke. Not wood smoke anyway. Not like a cigar either. But ... smoke nonetheless. Maybe an electrical fire? Yes, there is an electrical note in the air. But ... something else. More like ... metal? Yes. A note of metal. Like a smithy or steel foundry. Dude yawns and stretches, satisfied with his diagnosis. Thirst. Damn. It’s been ... a while. Years, maybe? He’d been dead before. Plenty of times. Mostly not for long. But this felt different. This feels like it’s been a long, long time. Ghost? Where is that little guy? “Ghost?”, he calls out. His voice is dessicated, raspy. Damn. I really need something to drink. Maybe even A Drink. Or two. I wonder what Cayde’s up to these days? Yah, I’d like to grab a drink with old Caydester. I’ll look him up when I get out of ... wherever this place is. It’s getting hot in here. I’d kill for a nice cool drink of water. Hell, even a warm swallow from the recycling cistern in The Tower. Not really feeling too picky right now. “Ghost?!” No answer. He listens. A low rumble, more felt than heard stalks the air. “What the hell?” “Get up guardian! We have to go.” It’s Ghost. Floating in the air to the left. “What’s going on?”, he asks. “I have no time to explain why I have no time to explain”, Ghost replies. “What? That makes no sense at all. Who says shit like that? Tell me what’s going on!” The rumble intensifies. More like a deep groan. Like twisting metal. The floor lurches suddenly. Losing his footing he falls to the ground. “Get up Guardian. We have to. Get. The Fuck. Out. Now.” Ghost spins, it’s scanner flickering into the dark. “This ship is going to hit hard atmo in about three minutes! Quick, this way.” Ghost pops into a dark passage. “And bring a weapon.” Dude scans the floor. A pulse rifle, a fusion rifle and a rocket launcher. “Which one?” “All of them! Something you can kill quickly with.” Ghost’s voice fades as it speeds down the hall. Jesus. He hoists his old friends. They feel familiar, reassuring. I got this. Dude sprints after Ghost. The hall is dark but tall and wide. He can see Ghost up ahead. It’s scanning a door actuator. “The code is encrypted, Guardian. I can get this open. You need to buy me some time.” Dude cocks the pulse rifle. Doesn’t seem rusted. Still lubricated. Full magazine. “Ok little light. What’s shaking?” Ghost pauses. It twiddles it’s parts. “Hive. A bunch. Looks like there will be —“ “— three waves”, Dude interrupts. Always three fucking waves. Then a boss. “Yes Guardian. Three waves. Then a boss.” Ghost twiddles it’s parts. The floor lurches again. The growls and screams of mindless hunting hive get closer. Shit’s going down. I got this.
”When you bring him back," they told me, "you must have a template… an image to provide you with the information you need. Where do you find that template? "Simply in a neighboring timeline. A place where he is still alive and intact. And wherever there is great danger, wherever the probability of death is too high, then those timelines become scarce and hard to reach. And so you find the zones where Guardians cannot easily be remade."
Spooky

1 ReplyThat Lore Entry was fantastic.
-
2 RepliesHe found out bungie is retiring our guns so he shot himself out a airlock
-
I mean theoretically the guardian won't notice the almighty be destroyed kinda like how when from earth you can still see stars that have supernovaed. So eventually it'll probably catch up in which case I'd imagine the ghost will finally get their wish to revive their guardian
-
Bump, this needs to be a thing.

1 ReplyEdited by Lord_Shar: 3/6/2020 12:28:36 AMTime dilation is caused by extreme gravity. The trapped guardian can be freed with a focused stream of anti-gravitons to cancel time dialation effects. Or bust out some space magic. :p

Bump for loophole

1 ReplyThanks for pointing this out. Good work

5 Replieswe saved saint 14 so its possible to save this Guardian and I think this ghost is the one that gives us Tommy's Matchbook But damn that lore book is pretty awesome it explains the restricted zones and takes a jab at our stupid actions of throwing ourselves to death for fun and giggles If I understood correctly, his guardian is dead but still alive at the same time. Dead in our timeline, but alive in the other where he shuts down the device, what ghost sees is a window in time where his guardian can be looked at
