Changing the meta by giving us horseshit weapons that nobody wants to play with is not the solution.
Nobody likes it when you take away choice. The whole entire system of playing Destiny is predicated on choice. You have the choice of what race you get to play even though it doesn't really make a difference in the long run. You get a choice in which character class and which subclass do you want to play even though they're all essentially the same they have enough differences where it's your choice if you want to be a warlock, hunter, or a Titan .
I play a crap load of Destiny. Out of Destiny one I put in over 2,000 hours. In Destiny 2 I've put in about 2,500 hours of Destiny every single year. Now this last season I really didn't particularly like it. And it, by-the-way, was the first season that I really didn't like. I really don't like the rehash of the Sundial from other events. I really didn't find that any of the weapons were engaging enough for me to want to go out and grind for them. And even though I got all of the sundials to Max and contributed a lot of fact line to the main event I only really dead about four or five Sundial runs.
Without a new raid to give us a new activity to quickly gain Pinnacles myself and many others were forced to do the raid from the previous season over, over, over, over, and over, till slowly be disappointed by the severe lack of diversity in the Pinnacle drops as most of them or energy or primary. They're really wasn't a lot going on this season unless you were just head over heels in love with the Sundial event. The weapons were not engaging and even if though they had new perks there on weapons that weren't by themselves fantastic. I won't even call half of those weapons average.
I didn't want to sit there week after week after week after week trying to grind out for weapons that I have absolutely zero interest in try and find God rolls for weapons that I'll never use. And that was my choice. I chose not to grind out for Crappie weapons. But now your decision to retire weapons essentially means that you are taking our choice away from us.
I'm fairly certain that half of you liberal -blam!- inside the Bungie ranks are completely pro-choice when it comes to women's rights but I'm 100% positive that you don't give a crap about being pro-choice when it comes to trying to determine whether us as players can determine if we want to have fun with new weapons or old weapons. Let that sink into your brain cells for a minute.
Keep your Bungie laws off of my character.
If we really liking it cavity we'll play it. If we really like a weapon we'll grind for it. I've spent weeks doing the exact same activity over and over just trying to find the exact role that I want. When the Menagerie came out I literally did 500 runs just to get the one God roll weapon that I wanted. And I was just for one weapon, when I came to the other weapons I put in about just as much time. But that was also because the weapons were a little bit more fun and useful. Do not force us to play with your crappy weapons that we don't give a crap about.
There's a balance that can be struck between the older weapons and the newer weapons but they don't want to try and invest any time into something like that. They want you in front of the computer or the console playing the game every waking second that you can trying to get to God roll weapon, or the new God roll weapon of the shity version of it that's reskinned from year one.
I'm certainly not going to f****** do it for the new one when they try and say that yours the new stat you better go grind it and get that God roll. I don't give a s*** and I don't want to give a shit. But I do actually like playing the higher and content. I like playing the level dependent things like iron Banner, trials, ordeal, whatever the f*** Master nightfalls is going to be.
So I should be able to use all the stuff that I had already spent over two thousand hours a year grinding to get the load out that I want. And I should be able to keep the weapons that I think might be good someday and pop them out when Bungie gets off their ass and f****** does something about them like side arms. I kept the crap load of sidearm I thought were going to be horseshit but maybe someday they'll be good and guess what now they're good.
So this is just another way for Bungie to control all the puppets and make sure that everybody's playing the game every single f****** week every single day every single season try and grind out the f****** crap you don't really want so that they can try and control you and all your free time.
I am starting to realize after playing Destiny for 5 years that I really am starting to get sick of the grind. And I really don't need it anymore. And this will just be the final nail in the coffin.
In the end it comes down to choice. If you're going to restrict our choice then we're going to choose whether or not we want to play any longer. And yes they'll be some of you that comment down below about if I don't like it and I don't like the choice and don't play because you don't play enough anyway in the game is only for serious people blah blah blah blah blah. If that's your attitude and you obviously didn't read anything that I said because I probably played this game 10 times longer than you have. I'm not afraid of a grind, but I'm not willing to invest hours, days, or even weeks or months to grind out for a certain weapon or a certain Loadout only to lose it and have to redo all that crap all over again so I can play the higher and content which is the reason why I play the game. I don't have the time and I really don't even give a s*** to even attempt it anymore if that's going to be bungees attitude.
That's my choice, what's yours?

Tldr Don't play it if you don't like it 👍

I really didn't find that any of the weapons were engaging enough for me to want to go out and grind for them
Really? Breachlight? Steelfeather Repeater? Perfect Paradox? Vorpal Weapon perk? I just don't agree. This season had some great loot with interesting perks.

Please do not buy the next few seasons, convince others to do the same. Don't support this power creep lie. Not Forgotten and Recluse were outliers.

8 RepliesI think you may have missed the point of it being incredibly time consuming to balance the game around every gun in existence and that by reducing the amount of weapons they have to balance new content around it opens them up to doing more stuff elsewhere.

5 RepliesOh so you played a lot of D1? So does that mean you just totally forgot about when they already did this for Taken King and that went on to be one of the best D1 DLC's? The fact of the matter is if you dont force people to change what works they never will. Its just human nature. You can still use all your old weapons in any legacy content it would only effect new content which would be healthy to have to go about finding new ways to beat things rather then just slapping on Izinagi, recluse, and wendigo and one phasing everything....

9 RepliesSo what do you propose they do instead? What's the balance you speak of amidst your liberal bashing?
